Don's HyperSpin Error "It is required for Don's HyperSpin tools to be installed in your HyperSpin folder

Hello everyone,

I am fairly new to utilizing HyperSpin, but I have been around the emulator community for quite some time. In fact, I have built several different cabinets and used a ton of different front ends to manage my collections. Yesterday I picked up a NVidia TV Streaming box "16gig version" and decided to take advantage of HyperSpin's front-end. Here is the guide I have been using "How To Set Up HyperSpin on the NVidia Shield Beginners Guide" from http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forums/topic/9226-how-to-set-up-hyperspin-on-the-NVidia-shield-beginners-guide/.

I am running into an issue with running Don's HyperSpin Tools. I have downloaded his tools and pasted them within a subfolder called Utilities\Tools folder in the HyperSpin folder on my desktop. I have also downloaded the .XML files for the emulators I am going to use to a separate folder called dat.

Every time I try to launch Don's HyperSpin List Generator.exe I get the following error message "It is required for Don's HyperSpin tools to be installed in your HyperSpin folder (or a sub folder within your HyperSpin folder).

My question to everyone is that am I doing something wrong or using the incorrect file? Thank you for your time and patience.

This is what I have done so far in the process:

Step 1: In Google Play, search for “RetroArch”. Install the emulator.

Step 2: in Google Play, Search for “Hyperspin”. Install Hyperspin.

First Steps on Our PC - Download and install HyperSpin to my desktop "I downloaded the most current version HyperSpin 1.3.3 Full Install 1.3.3 (File Size 457mb)"

Step 3: Create a folder on your desktop named “Hyperspin”

Step 4: Extract contents of your new Hyperspin download into that folder.

Step 5: Created all of my Directory Structure within Hyperspin/Emulators/Nintendo Entertainment System

Step 6: Inside that folder, create another folder called “roms”.

Step 7: Inside the roms folder, place all of your unzipped roms

Thanks for help everyone!

The first thing I tried was copy Don's tools to two different locations:

1. Directly within the HyperSpin folder

2. Shortened the utilities directory to HyperSpin\Utilities, deleted the contents of the folder and unpacked Don's tools.

3. Made sure that I was using the latest version of Don's tools by downloading it again "Dons-HyperSpin-Tools-4.2.6.exe".

Unfortunately, I am still receiving the same error message.

Son of a B@#$%, you are absolutely 100%. I am missing the executable file within HyperSpin. I cannot believe that I missed that.

I will see if I can find the 1.4 exe file you mentioned and place in the directory. Thanks again for you help.
