docsdaname
Hello everyone and greetings from the Planet of Brooklyn! I'm very new to this beautiful thing called Hyperspin so please bare with me. I'm running Hyperspin through my Nvidia Shield. Two quick questions... 1. Does the Hyperspin folder have to be placed in the root (0) of ES File Explorer or can it be run from a USB stick? 2. The beautiful intro and all the bells and whistles of Hyperspin load up when I turn it on but the video previews for individual games on their respective consoles are blank. It says to visit Emumovies.com Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
thatman84
Welcome to the forum @docsdaname .... 1. Yes it was designed to read off a usb drive. So as long as your Hyperspin folder is at the root of that drive it will auto find it. 2. So either you dont have a video for those games or they are named differently to what is in your database for that system The video you are seeing is located in Media/Frontend folder. These will play be default if there is no game specific video found. In Media/"nameof system"/Videos/gamename.mp4 You can download video snaps from the emumovies.com website
docsdaname
Thanks @thatman84 I appreciate the reply. I'm close to having everything working properly. Got it running from the USB drive. Originally it wasn't loading the ROMs but it's because they weren't labeled correctly. Now that the games are playing I just have to find the video snaps and download them. Hyperspin is such a detail oriented system but man it looks amazing when everything is working. Thanks again!
thatman84
Great news...yrah finding everyyhing you want is by far the hardest part! For ease you may want to consider investing some dosh to get easier access to download everything. All depends how many games/systems you are adding. When your setup grab a video capture from the shield and poat it up..its always noce to see what people come up with Happy hunting

docsdaname
Will do @thatman84 I grabbed an NES, Sega Genesis, Atari and Gameboy rom set already. Working on the others soon. Would love to get MAME next but it appears to be some many different variations. I'll probably stick with the consoles at first. Gotta crawl before I walk...lol Thanks @Kondorito
thatman84
I am currently working on my mame setup...been putting it off a long time. So mame4droid reloaded is probably the most solid mame emulator for droid and that uses the mame romset .139u1. This doesnt change and i would advise getting it. The newer stuff can be run with retroarch but its less easy to setup but gives the advantage of newer = more compatible games. Check the core info in retroarch to see what version it is on. Probably .185 or .186 right now but this goes up every month with mame directly. Sometimes retroarch are a little slower to upgrade their core
