Mame: dolphinbar guncode changes

Hi,

I am using Dolphinbar and wiimotes to emulate lightgun with mame games. Everything is working only that sometimes the controller name changes. S it changed from guncode1 to guncode5 then guncode6 recently. It is very annoying to have to remap the keys or have to retype the cfg file. 

Could this be because I paired another controller or I switched dolphinbar mode ? 

How can I avoid that ?

I beleive there is a third party app that forces controller order to be the same. Don't know what it's called though but I'm sure you can find it on google.

All the info you need is in this video.  I haven't done this to my setup yet but it is one of the next steps for me.  If it helps you out let me know.

Nope sorry I'm just a regular Chuck. Not "THE" Maverick Chuck. ?

But he was the only one to address this controller issue that I found so far. So hopefully it helps.

That should be what I was looking for, I am still trying to get it to work. 

Do you know if the map device thing works with MAMEUI64?

It should, it is a core functionality of MAME I believe.  But I run plain MAME64, so I don't know for sure.
