RLBradders26 Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Hi Guys, Im scared to ask this question in case I get the answer I really dont want. Basically, I have multiple custom databases, If i download the various genre xmls from hyperlist they dont exactly match my databases which means I end up having to tick rom only in hyperhq and also end up with loads of empty genres. (If you have a genre e.g Soccer Games and you dont have any of the games from the Soccer.xml when you select it will just go back to the main menu) Is there a tool that scans your system xml for each games genre then creates all the seperate genre xmls for you?? All of my fingers and toes are crossed right now, doing this manually or creating a script is going to suck.
Kondorito Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Hey man! Thinking out loud; might not be the main intention of it, but you could check HyperXMLspin: Among a lot of things that it does, it lets you "create/edit/save console favorites, handheld favorites, arcade favorite genre wheels etc..." So, maybe doing a search in it with specific fields like the system and desired genre, you can build a custom XML with the results for each one.
RLBradders26 Posted July 12, 2017 Author Posted July 12, 2017 Thanks @Kondorito I did have a play around with that tool about 6months ago but didnt try this will have a mess around with it, see what it can do.

Just create the genre xmls using your databases and Don's Split HyperList tool.
