dougan78 Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Anyone know how to get past this JVS I/O error. I have found numerous ini settings around the interwebs however no matter what I do I just get JVS I/O error when Launching Mario Kart GP2. Any help would be appreciated.
zerojay Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 What version of the Triforce branch of Dolphin are you using?
Dime333 Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Here's what I'm using in GGPE02.ini. Dime333 Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 I'm using 4.0-315 for MarioKart GP2 and 4.0-309 for MarioKart GP1 and Virtua Striker 3 Ver. 2002. The problem with Triforce at the moment is that you need to enable AM-Baseboard in both SP1 and Port1 for it to work. This can't be done by ini settings in these builds. It has been added in later dolphin builds. So whenever you want to play a Triforce game, you need to make these Changes in the menu. And then when you want to play a Gamecube game, you must change it back. I don't Think there is a way yo make the Changes only affect the triforce versions. The Changes are also made to the regular dolphin install. The workaround would be to make the baseboard settings default and then edit every Gamecube ini file to not use that. I don't Think that's gonna happen.
dougan78 Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 sounds like a PIA. Will just hold off on it and circle back in a year and see where it is at. Got plenty of other stuff to play so not worried and figured if it was easy would set it up. Thanks for the replies.

Dogway Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Where can I get the inis for f-zero and Mario Kart GP? I can't get past the card check in GP 1. By the way, do you know how to toggle postprocessing effects (shaders)? it used to be / key, now I don't know.

Inis for MarioKart GP1, MarioKart GP2 and Virtua Striker 3 Ver. 2002 are in my FTP folder. Make sure your ins are named the same or it won't work. As far as I know F-Zero isn't playable.
Dogway Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Thanks, it worked, I had them downloaded but was testing a longer ini I had. Nothing for F-Zero then? gotta use some hacks for the game cube version then. I have a problem though, I don't know how to throw things in GP 1. I have all my GameCube pad buttons mapped but nothing works. btw do you name the games after the inis (ie GGPE01) or the other way around?
Dime333 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 There is a bug preventing you from usng items in GP1. It has been fixed now, but I'm afraid the game isn't playable in the newer versions. The games can be named whatever. The inis are created from the game ID. If you manage to get Any version of F-Zero running, let me know. I couldnt get it to work right.
Dogway Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 newer versions? I use r309 as you said. I'm using r315 for others, main master dolphin branch doesn't run triforce right?

I Think the input buttons has been fixed in revision after 309. But since we can't get ingame with those. It's no use. I hope the next update will fix all this so we can use one version to play all the games. Or better yet, merge it with regular Dolphin.

I think from twitter he is still working on it...I was really hoping there would be a version what we could use the card to save... but all seems quiet.
Dime333 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Excuse me Man, may I have your inis files please? They are in my FTP folder.
dougan78 Posted June 21, 2014 Author Posted June 21, 2014 Dime what versions of dolphin are you using to make each triforce game work. I have been defeated by this thus far. Maybe with your inis and this info I will win. Thanks Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Dime333 Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 i followed post #4, but i still can't get by the card yes/no screen.. nothing happens when i press the gas pedal, any ideas? What game is this?
Dime333 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I just tested this and On the screen that says "Do you have a mario card?" Nothin happens if I choose yes. But i I choose no, (using the gas pedal) I get to the next screen where I can create a card if I want. If you are using my ini file from my FTP folder, make sure your game has the same ID. If you have a different region game, it won't work.
spotUP Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 uh, ok, now it just worked here, weird, but i am happy with that!
urbangangsta101 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Editing the Game ID for Mario Kart GP 1 & 2 causes the 'throw' button to stop working. Using RELSAB as an ID works fine
