The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

I messed up a list somewhere and I can't find out where

So I am going to try my best to explain this without making it confusing as all can be. I downloaded a pack for GBA for hyperspin. LOVING IT. Went to set up the GBA emulator in RLauncher and am noticing the little icons by the names of the systems are not there for some systems now. Not too big a deal I guess. Go to set up the GBA under the system Gameboy Advance and it could not find an emulator. No big deal I will set it manually. Can't find a module when I go to set that either. Not good. To sum it up, something happened to my directory for RLauncher and I can't figure out what file to get into to fix this mess. The GBA theme I downloaded works great in Hyperspin visually. Everything is synced up fine. Just can't set up the emulator in RLauncher as something is horribly wrong.  Here is a screen shot to show what I mean. Systems on the left are not lining up with the modules and emulators when trying to set them up under emulators and I can't seem to find the file I need to edit to make sure paths are lining up. Ready to pull my hair out.

Just to clarify I did go back to Austins videos as that is what I used to help me learn and set this thing up. He does in fact have the GBA picture next to where it says Nintendo Gameboy Advance. Now I figured this was a naming issue so I backed up the file and renamed everything that but got no where.

Usually in Rocketlauncher it will give you a line number if there a problem with the XML? Then in notepad++ you can just go to that line and find the issues.

In that screenshot, that is the place you select which emulator you want to use on that system... you must however have all emulators and extensions set under "GLOBAL". IE: Make sure there is not an exclamation mark next to it. Here is mine:

As for the icons, naming (for databases, ini's, cfg''s, media folders, everything) must all match, and it's all case sensitive. Mine is called "Nintendo Game Boy Advance" so I assume that's what it expects.

Understood and this was helpful. However, I still can't seem to get it to show up even when renaming that. Already tried it. Can't find the right file of which needs to be renamed. That is what I am trying to get at here. I changed everyone I could find. .XML .INI files from Game Boy Advance to Nintendo Game Boy Advance. No go on that. I am trying to find where all that info can be edited and the files that will need to be changed so I can get this thing back to normal.

Yeah I'm not sure if you've renamed a bunch of stuff... I might just fresh wipe and fresh install unless you have reverted everything back to the way RL created it. No manual renaming is needed normally. If a system is messed up, simply delete it and create a new one.

All of the system names from your screenshot that have no icon next to them are named incorrectly from the official naming convention.

Gameboy Advance should be Nintendo Game Boy Advance for example.

If you click on that system name in Rocketlauncher and click the pencil and paper icon in the top left hand corner and rename the system correctly then RL will rename all the relevant folders and system database automatically and after a reboot of RL the module should show up.

Official correct names for systems can be found in the Media/Icons folder under RocketlauncherUI

The names in the left menu in Rocketlaucher should come from the Main Menu.xml file in Hyperspin/Databases/Main Menu folder if you are using Hyperspin as your Primary Front End.

Each item should also have a matching Folder for their names in the Hyperspin/Databases

And each of those folders should have also a .XML file with a matching name.

They dont need to be named exactly like the tutorials but if they are you will find following them easier if you are new to this sort of application or technology in general.
(And I don't mean Iphones or Snapchat etc.. that's not technology :) )

\HyperSpin\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncherUI\Media\Icons

This is where the icons are for that section of RocketLauncher. If the system name is exactly like the icon, the icon will show up. When in doubt, cut and paste. You may think it's right, but it is wrong. Eyes lie.
