Please someone help me!

Can someone please help me? I am new to the community and cannot find any current information on how to set my backgrounds up for my arcade system. It seems as i have tried to do what is suggested for set up, but all of the posts i have read are 2-3 years old. I have 5 versions of Mame on my computer, and im not sure which 1 to use for my backgrounds on Space Invaders and Asteroids Deluxe. Do i put the zip files I downloaded from Mr Do's arcade in Mame, Rocketlauncher, artwork, bezels or Backgrounds?  Im totally confused, can anyone please help me!   Thanks!

MAME backgrounds go in the MAME artwork folder.

Ok, now what do i do when it doesn't work? Do i unzip the file? Do i rename the default.lay file to the same name as the background? How do i know which version of Mame is being used for Space Invaders/Asteroids Deluxe? I have enabled backgrounds and transparency is set to zero. When i place the zip in the folder, it does not work.

Can I ask why are using multiple versions of mame?
Just use the one version that matches your romset.

No need to unzip them or rename anything.

Thank you Spawk! I finally got it to work! I found which version was enabled and did what you said! Thanks again!  Bob
