Best place for games lists?

I was wondering what the best places are to get lists of the number of games per system. Is Hyperlist the best - is it accurate and up to date? Or are there other good sources?

touchy subject.

Lol.

Hyperlist is not really up to date but many on there dont have a better option.

Your best off cross referencing whats on HL to the download/upload section and the threads in the database forum.

Bit of a mess right now untill something new comes along

Thanks for your reply thatman84. Comparing Hyperlist to other sources such as Wikipedia, there appear to be a large number of discrepancies. I am getting the impression that Hyperlist is somewhat inaccurate. There should be some online source which lists this information more definitively!

Most current-day rom, disk and iso sets will get you pretty close to an total number across all regions, but not necessarily a number that suits what you're after. It's very difficult to get a "true" accurate number because of differing opinions on what counts toward that number... do you count all regions, unreleased games, unlicensed, homebrew, educational titles, compilations, samplers, demos, adult, etc. etc. It gets really fuzzy.

HL seems intended to list one of each title (usually USA, then Europe, then others, in that order) for most systems, for ease of use purposes. Personally, I love the approach here, mainly because you just gotta draw the line somewhere, or it becomes an impossibly endless quest.
