Where are all the ROMs at?

Hi all,

I guess this question has been asked 10's of times before but It will save me loads of time if I ask now.

I've got loads of roms for various systems but I have problems with quite a few systems. Roms for the following systems all have different names to mine  - Saturn, 3DO and Intellivision.

I know it's a long shot, but can the Hyperspin compatible roms be found anywhere or have you guys had to manually rename your whole romsets?

Thanks, Pel

your roms have to match your database file.. and if you're using the official database files then you have to manually rename the roms using a program. now a lot of people would disagree with me on this and for valid reasons but you can just go into rocketlauncher and let RL make a new database file from the roms you have. I've done this for a few systems and haven't had any problems or didn't even care about not having the official database files.. as long as the games play who cares.. but some people just want the official databases and for some systems such as mame.. it makes sense but I had systems with a handful of games that I just wanted to play so I just let RL make the database file.

Thanks Rastan, that's very helpful.

I'm guessing that all of the emumovie content won't tally with what I've got.  I'll will try that and see how I go though. Thanks again.

The main reason people like to stick to official databases is that the RL created ones do not have any metadata... manufacturer, release year, etc.

the more important reason

you should use official XMLs and rename your roms

you are are premium member

you can use Hypersync to download all the Hyperspin content. all the media you download will match your XML names

if not let say you wan to use   "Custom Name" instead of "Official Name"

you can keep your custom name and create a custom XML,  but then

you will have to rename the Wheel, theme, BOX,  Cart from the official name to your custom name so that it matches your custom XML name

in the end you either rename your 1 rom  or the 4-6 corresponding media items for that rom.

if your Saturn or 3DO XML has 200 games in it

you either rename 200 games or you rename (200 x 6)  upto 1200 media items.

your choice.

and you should google HYpespin ready rom packs.  this rom packs have been renamed to match the official XMLs.

but the number 1 rule here is that we do not post links to roms. so activate your google powers to find them.
