Hyperspin won't start

Hey!

New problem with Hyperspin (version 1.4.0.0) for me - was working fine until yesterday.  Now, it won't start at all.

The only new thing that happened recently was installing the game Dauntless.  I don't see how it could have broken Hyperspin, though...

Looking in the Task Manager, I can see Hyperspin appearing briefly when trying to run it, but disappears from the Manager after less than a second.  I've tried rebooting, or turning off the antivirus, but no help.

I can run a game without a problem through RocketLauncher.

 

Any ideas on how to tackle the problem?

same issue I have, im guessing some kind of Windows Update changed something? Is it being shutdown due to security? Im scared to update my Hyperspin as I have had a beautifully stable version I love for 2 years....

I had the same issue after upgrading Windows 10 to the latest version. 

But getting 1.51 update didn't work for me. I had to do a re-install (v 1.51) of the complete package. No big deal, just don't overwrite your Settings and Media folders and overwrite the rest in you legacy folder. (ALWAYS do a backup of your Hyperspin folder before)

I have the same apprehension as ankor77.  Was afraid to update and break something in my stable install.  I will try an upgrade, or a full reinstall if necessary, since my version is now broken anyway.

Will tell you what happened afterwards.

Sadly the issue started again the following day...

Also, while it worked, it wasn't accessing the MAME emulator properly - could play one game, then exiting the game and starting another wouldn't work.  

I'll try a full install of Hyperspin, as suggested by Antos.  Fingers crossed!
