d8thstar Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 hi guys, im putting together a custom wheel for all of my lightgun games and thought of something that would be very useful. in adding games from multiple systems into one xml, it’d be great to be able to add games just to the end of the list and have a flag in the game description “yes” / “no” to indicate whether you want the title to be show up as alphabetized. the reasoning is that as mame gets updated and you generate new xml’s, you wouldn’t have to cut and paste other system games into the list alphabetically to get them to show up as such. also, by saying “no”, you could group like games (by console for instance) together to make xml’s easy to update. thanks for reading!
thatman84 Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Iirc this is possible already. I'm not great on the PC stuff but in HyperHQ i think theres a uses indexes option that switches between alphabetical and reading the xml as its written order. Although I expect the letter skip will get very confusing if not ordered correctly. Official Hyperspin Tutorials Playlist HS Android Overview & Install HS Android Base Pack Download My Tutorials
d8thstar Posted July 16, 2018 Author Posted July 16, 2018 that’s good to know, thanks! i think my idea is kind of a hybrid, that you can have the majority of the list alphabetized but have a few games not alphabetized, for instance, if i wanted to stack up all of the NES games up front, i would put them at the top of the xml, all ragged with “no” so they would show as is, where they are in the list. the rest of the list is ragged as “yes” and would alphabetize in the wheel, no matter where they are in the xml.
thatman84 Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Well it is a good thought. Although I am fairly certain we wont see many or any new features in Hyperspin 1.5.1 anytime soon unless windoes breaks it again. Maybe have a look into existing apps for a solution.
