Jojo's Venture on MAME?

Hey All!  Please tell me where I should post this if this is the wrong place.  I am trying to run JoJo's Venture.  I have all of the .chd files and it seems to load ok up to a the initial screen, but I get a prompt saying "You have insterted a new CD-ROM" with options of "Rewrite Game" and "Cancel" (attached) and that it will take 43 minutes.  I've never played the game before so I'm not worried about overwriting anything.  My question is, how to I actually get it to select the option and will it bugger anything up if I do it?  TIA!

Go ahead and select rewrite. It will only show up the first time. Once you select the option, a progress bar should show, and will slowly increase to reach 100%. You can speed up this process using MAME's frameskip to max, and throttle to max, so it will take 5 mins instead of 40 for example (if I recall correctly).

Thanks Kondorito! Do you know how to actually select it?  I've tried every key on the keyboard with no luck....  Any ideas?

Just an FYI. There are no cd versions of the cps3 system games, so you don't have deal with this. 

I use the finalburn alpha core in RetroArch to play them

I am not at home right now so I dont rememeber, I think it was the keys between F8 and F12. Nevertheless I assume that by now you have already left it loading and finished.

@bionicrocky what Honosuseri says is correct. I believe Asia version is NO-CD, but if you want the USA version you will have to go through the nvram building once.

I remember doing it for Street Fighter III 3rd Strike as I wanted the texts in English not Japanese.

I play these games all the time on my phone. The JoJo games I have are Jap. Street Fighters are USA or Euro, to my recollection they just loaded straight up. It might well come down to the romset being used

So I am using MAMUIFX and still can't figure out the key to select "re-write cd".  I'd like to use the English language ones if possible.  I have all of the versions and can get the Asia-only to work, but not the 3 USA versions.   Kondorito, if you happen to work out which keys did it, I'd appreciate knowing.  I've tried the function keys without success.

@bionicrocky It’s whatever you have P1 Jab Punch assigned to in MAME’s Input (this Machine) menu. If nothing happens still, just press TAB and check the buttons mapping for this machine. 

Shortcuts to help out afterwards:

F9        Increase frame skip on the fly

F10       Toggle speed throttling

F11       Toggles speed display
