[Solved] How do I tell HyperSync to store videos on another disk?

Hi, I'm new here and new to this whole thing so bear with me. I am building an arcade cabinet for my two kids and I am a little stuck at the moment.

In advance, I am sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.

I got HyperSpin working with RocketLauncher, I got a platinum membership here and a lifetime membership at Emumovies and I now I am trying to have all the artwork downloaded for my roms. The problem is I have no idea how to do it so that it downloads and puts these huge video files onto another disk. My system, HyperSpin and RocketLauncher are all installed on the C:\ drive which is a 60GB SSD and all of my roms are on the D:\ drive, which is a 1TB HDD. I'd like to have HyperSync download all the assets to D:\. I have no idea how to do this.

When setting up HyperSync it says "The alternate folders path is defined by your system settings file...This file can be found in %Hyperspin Root%\Databases\%System name%\%System name%.ini" (see 001.PNG). All I can see in C:\HyperSpin\Databases\MAME\" is MAME.xml which is not an ini file and it is friggin' 2.5MB - that's a lot of text! No other system has the .ini file, which HyperSync says to look for, and I have no idea where to poke around in HyperSpin settings without ruining a finally perfectly working system.

I tried looking for the answer everywhere. Trust me, I've spent 3 hours searching! Nothing.

Can someone please help?

Regards,

Arthur

I dont know about "all media" but you can specify a video folder in HQ (this has to be set individually for every system).

Spawk, you genius you!

That actually fixed it. I would have never guessed to have done it through HyperHQ.exe

What solved my problem:

  1. Start HyperHQ.exe in the HyperSpin root directory.
  2. Go to Wheel settings
  3. Choose your emulator from the drop-down list that you want to have an alternate video folder
  4. Click the Video tab
  5. Click the silver folder icon to the left of the field and choose the folder you like as your alternate video folder. (see 002.PNG)
  6. Go to HyperSync and download the assets. Do not forget to have the Alternate videos folder ON.

Now if there only was a way to download the assets of roms I actually have, that would be awesome as hell.

I do think this is possible but cant remember the details.

One way arround it would be to filter you xml's with dons tools filter list to roms only. I am pretty sure Hypersync matches to the xml

You could double check if it helps to have your rompath set in HyperHQ

My man, that worked. What I did was, I deleted SNES from RocketLauncherUI. Added it again, this time I chose the option to have it build the database of ROMs located in the ROM folder. It created it, I then launched HyperSync and it only downloaded the material for the games I have. Saved me more than 7GB of space.

Excellent idea.

You may now notice that metadata info (publisher, year...) which normally displays on screen is now missing. You might wan't to try editing the official database either by hand or by something like "dons tools" to try and preserve this info.
