TheManuel Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Hello, all. It's been a long time since I've been here but the bug bit me again. Is there a tool here or elsewhere that will look at my roms folder and say, my artwork folder and move all the artwork files for which I don't have roms to a separate folder? Thanks in advance.
Kondorito Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Welcome back Here you go: There is a button on the right side that says "Move unneeded roms or media to subfolder". Pressing that button and selecting what you want to clean, it will create a new folder inside the folder it audited called "Unneeded" with all the stuff not being in use.
TheManuel Posted November 2, 2018 Author Posted November 2, 2018 Woohoo!! Thanks, I'll try it shortly. By the way, I used to ready Condorito when I was a kid (decades ago).
TheManuel Posted November 2, 2018 Author Posted November 2, 2018 I can't get the tool to do this for me. I throws out the error below. My artwork path is D:\MAME\artwork and the file I'm feeding it is just a list of names with .zip extension in a text file. I tried to install the latest .net framework files but the installer told me I had the latest already. Does the stuff below look familiar? See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.ArgumentException: Illegal characters TheManuel Posted November 2, 2018 Author Posted November 2, 2018 No worries, my friend. I thought of a clever and easy way to do this: 1. copy all the artwork files from the artwork folder 2. paste them into the rom folder but when asked what to do about duplicates, skip those files (this leaves the ones I want in the artwork folder) 3. once the unwanted files are pasted, they will still be highlighted so cut them from there and paste them somewhere else Bingo!
TheManuel Posted November 2, 2018 Author Posted November 2, 2018 Of course, this only works for artwork, which are zip files but not for other art files that are png, etc.
Kondorito Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 Before pressing the button, you need to select the system and press the Check button, after everything shows up listed, then you can press the move button.
