The HyperSpin 2 beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Hello everyone.

Long time wannabe MAME arcade person, but now after like 15 years I am building a kit cabinet and taking the plunge.

Built a PC same timeframe about 15 years ago and just did one of those 2TB hyperspin downloads and trying to figure this all out.

I have an x-arcade dual tank stick with trackball and have searched the threads to start to try to understand how to get this drive up and running.

If there are any tankstick owners that have patience and knowledge to point me to guides or additional details on how I get the tankstick to play friendly with this drive and get these awesome games up and running I would be truly in debt for that support.

My early feeble attempts has only got me frustrated as a new user that I cannot even navigate and understand some of these posts to make progress. Disappointed as I thought I was someone tech savvy, well I guess not.

So thanks advance and looking forward to better understanding Hyperspin and all it has to offer, and yes get it all to work with my tankstick ?

Well unfortunately there is no drive.  We do not support any AIO downloads and heavily recommend that you do it yourself because you need to know how to fix stuff as it breaks.  And it breaks... all the time.  You will need to know what you are doing and a 2TB download for who knows where is not something we can begin to try to figure out.

That being said, out of the box, the tankstick should be set up with default mame keys if I remember correctly.  As a result you have 2 options.  Set up all emulators that you are using to use those keys OR setup joy2key or similar to interpret key presses as what is needed for the emulators.

Now that most other users are not reading anymore, if you need some real help with the drive you have I would not mind helping when I have free time and as it stands, I do have a little bit coming up this weekend.  If you want some hands on help I would be happy to help you try to figure out what you have and how to get it to work with your hardware.  Just let me know.  The forums really do not like prebuilt drives and I agree with them.  I am not as against them as other users though so am willing to help you but be aware that I will want to explain as much as time allows so that you understand it and not just get it working.
