Alternate button mapping for MAME

Hello all.  

When I was playing Turtles in Time with my sons and wife we would inadvertently push a button combination that would send us out of HyperSpin.  I am guessing this is due to the default button mapping that is setup for MAME.  Is there a Button mapping out there that someone has used that is MAME friendly as well as other platform friendly?  If this topic has come up in the past please put the link in and I will be happy to read it.  I have looked and I guess my search criteria is not the kind of buzz words that I should be entering.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are using Rocketlauncher then it may be your "Exit Emulator" key combo\single button or the "Exit Script" keys. These have defaults set but you can change them under "Settings" and "General Settings."

when you press your Exit key rocket launcher (default setting)

this command closes your game

Exit_Script_Key=~q & ~s

 

if you are using a keyboard encoder and play a 2 player MAME game you will eventually hit   Q and S at the same time 

P2 button 2 = S

P2 button 3 = Q

 

you can either

remap your MAME keys for P2

or

as GIga mentioned changed your RL exit keys 

or 

best option (in my opinion)

use Joystick encoders;  joystick encoders don't use keyboard keys.
