Even though FatMatch says it renames images to match roms, you can technically use it rename anything you want, which is what I've been doing so far. I'll check this out when I get a chance as everyone seems to recommend it pretty highly :)

Still using this fantastic program but run into a slight problem. I am setting up SCUMMVM for the first time and i am trying to rename the folders to match the box art. Or rename the boxart to match the folders whichever works.

Does this program have this feature and if not would it be possible to add it?

Thanks again.

Sorry if this is a bit too technical, but you can rename any FILE (no matter what extension it has) regarding the naming of the games inside an XML.

So if you have box art files already matching the names inside the scummvm XML, then you had to rename the directories, which is not possible yet with HSRMM, I will put this request on the TODO list tho, so it will come with the next version.

If you have directories already matching the names inside the scummvm XML, then you can set the extensions to "png" or "jpg" or even "png, jpg" (without the quotes) and use HSRMM to rename the box art files.

[Edit] Sorry, I didn't know that you already use this tool (should have looked a few posts back), so maybe you already know what I told hehe.

Just a little question, which criteria does a 3rd party tool have to meet, in order to get a place in the official 3rd party area on the downloads section?

Yeah I think this and quite a few other programs should be added. I depend on this one for almost every new system i download. I might have found it sooner if it was in the download section. i think i found it on a random forum search when someone mentioned it.

Oh btw i checked and looks like i have matching boxart and xml but my folders in scummvm need to be renamed. =( So hopefully folder support can be added without too much difficulty. I may scour the internets to try to find something to work in the interim. I just want to get my scummvm working asap.

Great tool. look forward to updates. =D

I LOVE YOU M2K! =D Trying it out now.

Its funny cause i was trying to rename about 400 playstation wheels using the 1700+xml list and since i only have 400 wheels i have tons of incorrect ones but since you added the ability to mass select incorrect ones.. It will be so much easier now! Art preview i didn't even think about that what a great idea. =D I was even able to resume my playstation project.

Trying out the scummvm folder rename as well. I have not committed project to run yet but when I do will it copy the games or will it just rename the existing folders?

Thanks dude!

Thank you SOOOOOOOO much :)

but,

It would be cool if there was a button to add games that wasn't on the list

LaugeJ: HSRMM was never intended to alter the Hyperspin XML databases, but I'll keep your suggestion in mind.

Thanks this tool works great!

You think you could add an option to "move" to the destination directory instead of "copy"?

This is a wonderful tool! Works really well! Is there any way to make a new XML file based on the Roms it found a match for? For instance, I only have about 100 of the NES roms, so it would be awesome to compile a new XML file based only on those 100 roms.

EDIT: NVM, figured it out using Don's Tools :)
