hippyd Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Does anyone have Pinball FX3 on their Hyperspin? I have a pedestal style machine connected to a tv via HDMI. Tried to play Pinball FX3 and the buttons don't work. Plugged in a keyboard and can now use the flippers using the shift keys. Is there any way to play this without the keyboard? Another thing, I've noticed with this and another pinball game that there is a fraction of a second delay when hitting the flippers, which makes it hard to time hitting the ball properly. Is this an issue with all Pinball games on hyperspin or is it just my machine?
gigapig Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 I have it running on my cab which uses Ultrastiks and I have just remapped the buttons. As for lag I have not noticed any, does your GPU run the game OK?
32assassin Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 FX3 is pre configured to work with a 360 controller (aka X-input controller) most if not all of the generic USB joystick Encoders you will buy are based on the D-Input firmware. You have two options when it comes to FX3 1. If you are using the Steam version of FX3; you can map your generic (D-Input) controller in the Steam setup menu. 2. You can use 360ce https://www.x360ce.com/ (If you have or want Analog Nudge or an Analog Plunger choose option 2) 360ce is an Xbox 360 controller emulator. You will map your Generic Joystick controller to 360ce. and Your PC will think that you have a 360 controller connected to your PC --> Any Steam Game (including FX3) will work out of the box. (make sure you download version 3 and not version 4!!!!!!!! version 3 will auto load and auto close when you Open and close FX3)
hippyd Posted November 29, 2020 Author Posted November 29, 2020 My GPU handles everything well. I actually have a couple xbox controllers that came with this but pinball isn't something I'd want to play with a controller, rather stand up hitting the buttons like a regular pinball machine. I'm in contact with the guy who made the machine so I'll do some more troubleshooting.
32assassin Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 read my repose more closely, I did not say that you need to connect or that you need to use an Xbox controller I said that your current (USB Joystick) controller will be seen as an Xbox controller if you map it to X360ce. but if you bought a pre built machine with pre loaded software , your better option is to ask the person that built this for help.
