nguerra Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 I'm using Mame to run the Neo Geo Pocket Color games. Every time I launch a game, the system setting need to be updated. Not sure if there is a way to save that or just not have the setting questions come up? Does anyone have any ideas or am I missing something simple. Thanks Nick

nguerra Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 I used RetroArch on my first build and yes, it did handle it but I can't stand RetroArch :) Interface is wacky to say the least and having a front end on top of a front end seems like a lot of un-needed overhead. This build is rocket launcher only with individual emulators.
Spawk Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 A lot of times RL needs to be told what options you want to use. It does not read these from the emulator. This is done by clicking the "edit global module settings" button: ** Good idea to look here when setting up any system.
nguerra Posted December 23, 2020 Author Posted December 23, 2020 Thanks Spawk for the tip of where to look. Unfortunately, nothing is working. the only option i see that makes sense is the autosave and that isn't working. Seems odd that the date and time reset every time you launch a game. You wold think that those values are stored somewhere.
Spawk Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 hmmm, date and time??? That sounds like a bios function. Sorry I do not use mame softlists. Does it work correctly outside of HS/RL?
nguerra Posted December 23, 2020 Author Posted December 23, 2020 Tonesmalone from the Rocketlauncer Forum suggested it may be a MAME issue and to give Mednafen a try. Mednafen ended up working like a charm.
