shredder Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 I'm looking for a tool that has basically the same format as HyperT00ls, but includes the auditing of Marquee's. Does anyone know if a tool like that exists? or how i might be able to leverage HyperT00ls to do this?
Spawk Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 I use a tool called HyperDetective that checks for all kinds of artwork... but not marquees unfortunately. Makes sense though since HyperMarquee/EDS are separate applications from HS and they can be configured with any path. Unlike HS which is very rigid in it's artwork locations. If it's just a list you are looking for, you may be able to just drop what you have into the "Artwork 2" folder of a system and then run HyperDetective on it. The app doesn't know what the artwork is, it is just checking file names. Not ideal I know, you might want to set up a separate HS just for this purpose. * I don't think I've ever used Hypertools so I am unfamiliar with it's auditing interface. But it also must only be checking filenames so you should be able to manipulate it as well by tricking it into thinking it's checking disks or something.
shredder Posted May 5, 2022 Author Posted May 5, 2022 Good Suggestion, I've never used HyperDetective, but i'll check it out. I thought about placing Marquee's in an 'Artwork #' folder, but i was unsure if that could be consistent globally, or what unexpected effects i would get. Overall, you're correct in that hypertools is simply validating if a file matching the xml name exists and showing a 'green' box instead of a 'red box if it's missing. Simple, but very effective when you're looking at things like ' the mame monster'. Thanks for the feedback, I'll look into hyperdetective an if it's possible to place marquee's in an artwork folder, that might do the trick.
shredder Posted May 20, 2022 Author Posted May 20, 2022 Circling back to this for closure, I moved all of my marquee folders to use Artwork1 instead, Now when using hypertools the status shows artwork 1 has a marquee.....except for my AAE system....no idea what's going on there, but the rest work
