I understand how this istuation annoys folk on here but its harsh to suggest "the community won't help", give the guy a break.

And hang on, here's the sting in the tail, it's old Hyperspin and old Hyperlaunch, of which Hyperlaunch 2,5 is no longer supported and probably most of us would have no clue how to trouble shot it.

Super Fam - Gigapig has made a massive point here, this for me simply should direct you now for a new fresh install of hyperspin/hyper launch. All I would use from the seller is the media and emu's, this will still give you a head start.......

Thanks JQ, your right, Super Fam could try and get what he's bought working and be happy as it should provide many hours of enjoyment. The resolutions should match his monitor and controls can be set in the emulators, or use whatever tools supposedly come with the drive.

Alternatively, like you say, keep the media and any Roms and start out fresh with supported software and we'll be more than happy to help.

I personally wouldn't even use the emus, for everything stated above, and also because I don't think its a stretch to conjecture that an outdated version of hyperspin probably suggests a bunch of outdated emulators as well.

You may want to keep MAME as the roms for it are per version and unless you want to update the roms, the emulator should be just fine.

But for things like playstation, nintendo 64 (all of which you should be running multiple emus anyway to get the most compatibility), there are a bunch of newer versions with updates and fixes available.

Here is what I would do.

Since I have a 4 tb hard drive, I'd create a new folder in the main directory called hyperspin, after changing the old one to something like Hyperspin1.

I'd download the new hyperspin/hyperlaunch and then update with GIT, and install all of it in my new hyperspin folder as per directions given by the countless tutorials out there.

I'd open hyperHQ and I'd add all of the systems that aren't stock with the fresh install.

One that's done, I'd merge my media folders into my hyperspin/media directory

In the new directory I'd create another folder called "roms" and put all the roms there.

Having done that, which in reality would take me less than 20 minutes, I would create one more folder in my hyperspin/hyperlaunch directory called "Emulators".

I'd open HyperlaunchHQ and for every system I'd see what emulators are available, and I'd download every one into a folder in my emulators directory named something like "(emulator name)_V1.22_32bit."

I'd do that for every system (This is the only time sink, but well worth it.)

Then I'd set the paths in hyperlaunchHQ, and maybe search/ask on the forums what emulators work the best. I'd open these emulators outside of hyperspin and play with the settings, make sure they work etc.

Then I'd play my games, having used neither the original emulators nor the original install of hyperspin. Realistically, this would take me about three hours.

Lastly, I'd probably see what an awesome community this is and how my setup is missing a bunch of stuff and I'd donate to this site and get access to hypersync and the FTP and let the real fun begin.

thanks guys, now that i understand more about this i can see why you guys dont like pre made systems. if i would have known about this bullcrap spanish drive from the start i would have never went down that road. i respect the time and effort that all you guys have put into hyperspin and im pissed at this guy for selling me this BLACK BOX of crap. I have been a gamer since day one (81,82) im big into fighters and have been playing street fighter since 87. i also own a mvs neo geo arcade cabinet as well as a mvs that has been cosolized. i aslo have a huge collectiom or video games systems from atari all the way to xbox one and ps4. i have been collecting and playing video games my whole life, i pretty much own every system and have a huge library of games for each. I just went out and spent 2g on a brand new gaming pc when i found out about hyper-spin. my point is that i respect and love each and every system and game for each system( Thats why i fell in love with hyper spin. I had no ideo that this SPANISH company was a scam selling other peoples hard work. PLEASE EVERYBODY EXCEPT MY APOLIGE, I AM TRULY SORRY AND MENT NO DISRESPECT BUY BUYING THE DRIVE.

yeah, i should have done more research, im not to good with computers. im also a mac user and own mostly mac stuff. i just bought a brand new gaming pc just for hyper spin. all the video games i have played and owned my whole life have been all the real systems. i have never messed with emulation, so after goignt o this SPANISH BULLCARP HYPERSPIN-SYATEMS website, it looked like and seemed like i could just buy this drive and install. I have no idea how do any of this stuff. I have bought a game system, read the instructions and pluged it to my tv and played since day one. I have never even played a computer game till now. I have always own the real game systems. Hyper spin to me looked like a all in one thing that I could putintoa blank arcade cabnet that i have and have it be its own thing. Thanks again for all your guys comments and help. Im the type of guy who likes to KEEP things real and buying some bullcrap spanish drive is NOT KEEPING IT REAL!!!

Once you get it installed, feel free to ask any questions you have. I for sure wouldn't scrap the whole drive you bought or give up. The community here is active, as you can see, and there are hundreds of walkthroughs and tutorials. Although... I'm not sure how much is relevant to mac users.

Hey Everybody, just wanted to stop back in one last time. I took that piece of CRAP SPANAISH hyper spin 2tb drive out of my brand new gaming pc and hayer launched it into the FUCKING garbage, 230 bucks gone! So to that guy that was asking to snag some artwork,,, have at it. Just be clear I respect you guys for the time and work you put in to hyper spin, but i don't want to have to start from scratch. I don't want to learn all the ins and outs and how to do everything. I JUST WANT ALL THE FUCKING GAMES AND ART AND I WANT TO BE ABLE TO PLAY EVERYTHING.
