newoski
Hi Guys, Should I be tweaking any of the settings on my ASUS GTX 660 -- NVIDIA Control Panel? I'm getting some really nasty screen tearing with default settings. Thanks, Owen
dark13
Enable v-sync where needed. Trought nvidia drivers you can choose applications and force v-sync. Many softwares does have built-in option.
SIMPLYAUSTIN
Screen tearing... this is often when the resolution does not match the screen resolution. Often with a Emulator its hard to match the screen. Either due to the fact that the res of the original console or computer is much lower. With up scaling your using much more CPU and GPU than you need to make just a fraction of an improvement. In this case try to get the ASPECT RATIO exatcly the same on a lower res. This increases the graphics, lowers the tearing, but keeps the game running as smooth as possible. If that doesnt help, match the resolution EXACTLY. If your rig cant handle or no improvement, THEN use vsync! Often Vsync can half your FPS for little improvement. Often best to try and use all other options first. If you do havethe option on the game or Emu, try to keep the refresh rate or FPS as close to the monitor or TV too. Only mess with the GPU OC as last resort as this will have a knock on effect later on
