jvlk Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Take a look at this http://www.twitch.tv/digitalcybercherries Should release in a couple of weeks for free and it will support oculus rift. Edit:Noticed I got the thread title wrong, should be Retro instead of Tetro Console Fade Project 4:3 Resolutions compatible fix
HazzardActual Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 holy crap.... imagine if this was adapted to the HS library.
jvlk Posted October 26, 2014 Author Posted October 26, 2014 If you miss the stream, here is info given out in the chat: Five-ish man team made this, as a way to familiarize themselves with UE4 before working on a larger project -FREE, available NEXT WEEK -Took about 5 weeks to put together -Downloads ROMs from internet URL, can customize which ROMs in .ini, can also specify local files (same with MP3s for the cassette tapes); does not come with any ROMs in initial download -Just Gameboy and Gameboy Color ROMs right now, because GB emulation is some of the fastest -Some tapes will be hidden around the demo -Several games like Flappybird and Pong built in UE4, will work without internet access -No multiplayer -Works with 360 controller -Depending on reception and popularity they might add more requested features (said 'maybe' to open source) Website: http://digitalcybercherries.com/ Imagine this with a mame emulator. HazzardActual Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I have never wanted an oculus more. If only you could add in the smell of old cigarettes and split beer.
damageinc86 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Interesting concept. I think VR is overrated though,...you can't beat real life. ever.
jvlk Posted October 27, 2014 Author Posted October 27, 2014 Interesting concept. I think VR is overrated though,...you can't beat real life. ever. Real life arcade will always beat that ofcourse, but since there are no arcades anymore in my area this will be great to relive a slice of the 80's. Imagine they add multiplayer so you can see and interact/Play with other people, integrate STEM Sixence Controllers so your hands etc move like in real life....this is just the dawn of VR. I have a DK2 (also owned a dk1) and once you played some racing sims or Alien isolation, Elite Dangerous there is no going back to normal monitors (eyefinity owner), the resolution is still not great with the dk2 but when the CV1 will hit the market I think VR can go very big. Once you tried it and see the potential you don't say it is overrated imo. Console Fade Project 4:3 Resolutions compatible fix
