Shooting games not working ?

I know there's probably something stupid I'm not seeing, but I'm using an xarcade tankstick.

Setting up controls for shooter games is that done in my mame emulator or inside hyperlaunch hq somewhere.

I know stupid question but I've never been able to get the games going, they launch fine but my joystick doesn't control it.

You'd set the controls in Mame by pressing the Tab key.

Shooting games are normally controlled by mouse inputs, I wouldn't fancy playing them with a joystick.

I was just curious how bad it would be in the cab.

There's a few money shooting games I wish I could play. But can't complain toooooooo much I guess.
