Aimtrak Issue - in Mame both guns are Gun 1

I have setup both guns As Device 1 and Device2 in the software setup.

Mame sees them as the same controller

Dual light guns is on

Multimice is on

Using mame64 from jumpstile's folder

This is now sorted. Used a vanilla version of MamepUi (0.139) and everything works from the get go.

Ive read twice now in these forums that hyperspin should be used with mame and not mameui (or derivatives such as mameuifx)

Ive been having the exact same problem as you and its driving me crazy, so Im going to try a mame command line version that i see in Jumpstiles FTP folder that is NOT the mameuifx version but still has the same features, which is: MAME .159 x64 NoNag+HiScore+NeoGeoXtra+Autofire+DirectInput

My question is, what is it in the mameuifx version that causes it to have problems with 2 lightguns in mame (or multiple mice really) since both my aimtraks are seen as one device inside mame but as 2 devices outside mame?

Thank you for the reply, I will now use the non Direct Input version and try that. Curious though, Is there a limit on the number of mouse devices you can have with the direct input version? (i have 5, 2 as lightguns, 1 as trackball, 1 as spinner and 1 as my computers mouse) And if thats true, then it shouldnt matter what RAW input build I use of mame, correct? (either mameuifx without DI or MAME command line without DI)

No, that shouldn't matter. I just tried my setup with Jumptiles 0.158 build. Something seems to be wrong with it, since it sees both guns as Gun 1. I will try 0.159 later and see if t's working with that.

I'm having the same issue even with 0.160

I found myself usually have to build my own mameuifx for my aim track guns because something is odd with jumpstile's mods when you try out lightguns

There's nothing odd or wrong. For more than one lightgun make sure you are using one of my MAME builds WITHOUT directinput, and make sure it's one of the last two versions that were released (.160 or .161 or the soon to be released .162). Any others and you will have issues.

There's nothing odd or wrong. For more than one lightgun make sure you are using one of my MAME builds WITHOUT directinput, and make sure it's one of the last two versions that were released (.160 or .161 or the soon to be released .162). Any others and you will have issues.

i tried your non directinput versions before, i am fully aware of that lightgun (especially aimtraks) require raw input to function correctly. oddly aimtraks have a hard time with multiple guns was my experience.

I love your builds and stopped upgrading at .153 due to this issue.  I just tested .162 and can confirm it still puts both lightguns as Gun1.  When I run the latest regular mame from mamedev it recognizes both guns properly.  So I believe something is wacky still.

Certainly possible. I downloaded your mame not direct input one.. Exracted it to a new folder. Ran mame -cc. Put your other zip contents in the same folder the zip for put in mame folder. I tested beast busters world. Only input selected was lightgun = 1. Tested and both guns are gun 1. Downloaded mame from mamedev put in same folder and tested with all same stuff and guns show up as gun3 and gun4 just fine. So if you could elaborate on these settings it would be helpful.

just to let you know that game beast busters world is a yellow status rom which mean partially working, aiming on that game is not accurate so you should try a game with a green status

i do have experience with dual lightguns
