Takaji Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I'm using Don's HyperSpin List Generator to make a custom MAME XML database. I'm having a problem where the CHD column always says "No" even when I've got the proper CHD files in my roms folder. Does anyone know how to get the List Generator to see the CHDs? For example, area51 has CHD files in the roms folder, yet the entry in the List Generator says "No" in the CHD column. Thanks for the help!
Fromlostdays Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I may be wrong but I don't think you need to list CHDS for mame in your xml at all, since they are named the same as the game. I think Mame on launch just automatically looks for them. Walter:beerglass:
32assassin Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 you are correct sir, a Hyperspin XML only contains roms. its the job of the MAME emulator to look for the CHD once the rom is loaded. look at Cubequest, the game can be played with or without the CHD.

32assassin Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 the easiest way to do that is to use this program http://emumovies.com/forums/index.php/files/file/1174-hyperspin-asset-xml-audit/ create a fake files from the XML. you can delete the fake folders, just keep the fake avi files. put all your CHD folders in the fake files folder. if their is no corresponding fake avi file, then the game with a CHD is not included in the XML.
