strawdog Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I am struggling with Nintendo GameCube on Hyperspin, I have Dolphin.ahk mod version 2.0.6 Emul.Ver v4.0 r4875 by djvj the emu runs fine within HLHQ but once i try to use it in hyperspin i get the error message "Nintendo GameCube is an invalid system" I have used module updater, i have pulled latest updates via GiT, not sure what to try next. I grabbed the Gamecube central folder from the gigapig's folder on the FTP but the AHK in there is named Gamecube.AHK and i had no luck trying to use that. I read somewhere that they had created this error to avoid copyright issues but i see other people have it Gamecube/Dolphin running. I'm pretty new to Hyperspin but learning hard n fast through long frustrating nights of googling and experimenting. Any help would be great thanks

Any help would be great thanks It sounds like you've got a combination of a lot of different modded elements here. GameCube with dolphin requires minimal setup. I'd make sure you're using the latest HyperLaunch with the latest modules - which can all be pulled from GIT. Then post some screens of the various settings panels on HyperHQ and HyperLaunchHQ, along with a troubleshooting log.
strawdog Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 Thanks Tones, I thought it was going to simple to set up too, if you have a link to a recent set up tutorial/video that would be very appreciated. in the meantime i will go back over my set up

You must be mistaken, I don't have anything like that in my folder, what is it so I can take a look? It's sounds like an old module for HyperLaunch 2.5, all you need is the Dolphin module. If it's HyperSpin throwing up the error then look at the HyperHQ settings not HLHQ. Is execution set to HyperLaunch, and you system is named "Nintendo GameCube".
strawdog Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 Thanks Giga, watched your vid again, set everything up and still having the same issue, here are some screengrabs, ive spent 3 nights on this ! if i had any hair left i would be pulling it out now!
gigapig Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 What you need to do now is post your logs, both the HyperSpin log and HyperLaunch, make sure the HyperLaunch log is set to Troubleshooting.
FrankyRizzo Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 This might be too simple to possibly fix it. But I remember I had a lot of naming issues with my consoles when I first setup HyperSpin. I am Pretty sure it names to be Game Cube... both capital letters and 2 separate words.
strawdog Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 ok, new to this, sorry for all the hand holding file:///P:/HyperSpin/Emulators/Nintendo%20GameCube/Dolphin-x64/HLHQlog.html

FrankyRizzo Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Nintendo Game Cube still need nintendo on it.
gigapig Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 ok, new to this, sorry for all the hand holdingfile:///P:/HyperSpin/Emulators/Nintendo%20GameCube/Dolphin-x64/HLHQlog.html That's not working. There are 2 ways to post the logs, either directly into the post or putting it on Pastebin and then linking to it. The Hyperspin log is in the Hyperspin folder and is called "Log.txt". When posting it put code tags at the beginning and end of the log, look at the HyperLaunch log for an example. The Hyperlaunch log is in the Hyperlaunch folder and already includes the code tags. HLHQ log is not required in this case.
FrankyRizzo Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Just one more thought... When I setup a new console... I actually never use HyperHQ... I just edit the mainmenu.xlm.... then I set up everything through HyperLaunchHQ to setup the application directory and the rom path... Maybe your problem is that you set the executable?

FrankyRizzo Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I accidentally clicked that when I was taking the photo. It's changed back now. Was just trying to show I have it blank and it works
FrankyRizzo Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Wish I noticed that before I sent the photo.

Also the HyperLaunch log is set to level 3 which doesn't show much info, you need to change it to Troubleshooting level in HLHQ. Sorry for bombarding you with all this.

gigapig Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 The path to Hyperlaunch is missing. AFK, at the moment, i think it normally is on the line before the version in the first section. You could get a new one or the correct info by downloading Hyperspin again and look at the settings ini there, unless some can post it. Also could you check what FrankyRizzo mentioned in post #13 about having an exe tag in the xml.
strawdog Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 thanks Giga, ok, so is there somewhere on the ftp i can pull a working settings.ini from ? BTW- other emulators are running ok in hyperspin (mame,snes,n64) not sure if that makes any difference or changes any of the advice given -also like to say its such a cool community, i am willing to learn but need help, its great to have so many generous willing members
gigapig Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Try adding the path to HyperLaunch, are you using HyperLaunch to run those other systems or just HyperSpin? Here is mine [Main] Menu_Mode=multi Single_Mode_Name=MAME Enable_Exit_Menu=true Enable_Exit=true Exit_Default=yes Exit_Action=exit Version=1.0.0.0 Last_System=Steam Hyperlaunch_Path=O:\HyperLaunch\ So you need to add "Hyperlaunch_Path=" and then the path to HyperLaunch including the backslash.
gigapig Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 There is no reason you need a settings.ini from somewhere/someone else. That was an option if no one else was able to post the information, as I couldn't do it at that time.
gigapig Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 If adding the path to HL doesn't work perhaps take Jeremy's offer of a Teamviewer session, it may speed up the fix.
