noxeon Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 I'm using Nestopia for nes emulation and the emulator works fine on its own. However when launched via hyperspin whenever I exit the game I get the error "Configuration File load error! Default settings will be used". This resets nestopia.xml and forces me to configure my settings every time I launch a game. One solution I was able to find for this was to change nestopia.xml to read only. This worked for a while, the games were loading fine with my configuration, I was getting an error when I exit the game but it was in the background so it was sort of fine. I had to untick read only today to change my controller settings and I re-ticked read only when I'm done. Now whenever I exit a nes game in hyperspin I get the error "Could not save configuration". But this time it appears on top of hyperspin, not in the background. I've tried everything I can think of but no joy. I would like to get rid of errors for good or have them in the background. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
gigapig Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Welcome to the forum noxeon. Sorry my solution isn't great, but why not try a different emulator?
32assassin Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Nestopia generates its own XML inside its folder when you first run the program. Nestopia.XML errors are usually generated if you move your Nestopia emulator folder after runing the emulator. re download the emulator place it in its permanent folder and try again. Make sure you run it once before launching games with Hyperlaunch.
