cder Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I'm currently setting up a Mame system for my son and i've seen on the net their is a way to setup a wii remote as a light gun to work in Mame. I've search the net, purchased Bluesoil Software, and downloaded various programs to try and get it working but to no avail. I've been working on this for over 3 weeks and with a son nagging you that he wants to play some games, I was wondering if their are any manuals that gives you a step by step guild on how to gget it working and also how to setup Mame. Any help would be appreciated.
boomerps2 Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Really only one way to do this. Google "Mayflash Dolphinbar". This little device is a life saver. Well worth the money. I think amazon has them for under $30.
jimmyuk86 Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 +1 on dolphin bar. I found the cheapest on eBay. Shipped from Hong Kong. Works really well with a pair of generic motion plus wiimotes also bought from eBay Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
thomas3120 Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I was able to get the original wii sensor bar working in dolphin emu. Works great, was wondering if this would work in mame as the OP was saying. Reading up a bit on the wii sensor bar only requires a voltage to operate and doesn't communicate with the wii at all. Basically just some LEDs. All data is sent from wiimote to wii. t
gigapig Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 You can also do it with a bluetooth adaptor and Touchmote I have a video guide in my signature which might help, but Dolphin bar is pretty simple.
cder Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 I have tried using touchmote and sensor bar without any success. I've also tried Wiimouse, Wiimote PPjoy and various other programs but whilst the PC sees the Wiimote, Mame refuses to use it. It either locks up the PC or one of the programs crashes. I've checked various websites on how to set it up but the are pretty vague and some just don't work at all.

cder Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 I tried two versions of Mame, 0.106 and the latest version still without success. I think i'm going to give up as i've spend nearly three weeks on this and i'm not going anyway forward. Can anyone recommend a emulator whereby I can use a light gun or if their is a way in using a XBOX 360 light gun on a PC?
Torden Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Nestopia works with touchmote, and so does Sega Model 2
cder Posted February 6, 2015 Author Posted February 6, 2015 Well after many, many hours of brain crunching I decided to borrow my ex's Toshiba and guess what … it worked first time using Toshiba's Bluetooth stack. The Wiimote connects every time and Glovepie recognises the wiemote without any issues. I've just got to work out know how to setup Mame and try and explain to my ex why she is going to loose her laptop lol.. Thanks to everyone for their help ..
