drusso66 Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 I have the Panasonic 3DO emulator FourDO all setup with latest Hyperlaunch/HQ and latest module etc... etc... But it will not run when i start it from either Hyperspin or HLHQ, i Just get a windowed black screen and nothing happens the only key that does anthing is the ESC which quits the emulator back to HLHQ. The emulator works fine on its own in windows. I have trried deleting the settings in the emulator and configuring from scratch selecting bios control input, but still the same. Have even tried 3 different versions of the FourDo including the latest build but still same, even lowering the resolution in windows. Any help would be really appreciated.
Styphelus Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Do you have the 4DO bios files? I just setup mine on retroarch and was getting a black screen until I downloaded the bios files.

Yes i have the bios files, the emulator works fine when used out of hypespin or HLHQ. So there is no problem with the emulator, it's only when i load it through Hyperspin or HLHQ, it will seem to unzip and i get the loading game text, then it just switches to a windowed vesion of the emulator just stuck on black screen and then i have to hit ESc to exit back to HLHQ.

Dime333 Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Check if 7z support is off if your games are uncompressed. And on if they are compressed.
gigapig Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Check the module notes. Check the Global module settings. They do say it only supports cue + iso but I don't think that matters if using DT Lite. My original set were img + cue. Post your HyperLaunch log.
drusso66 Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Check if 7z support is off if your games are uncompressed. And on if they are compressed. Just checked and 7Z is enabled and my Isos are compressed.
drusso66 Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 sorry about all the above pasted text could not see how to attach a txt file, could only see the video and pic attach icons
gigapig Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 FYI module notes are found here. My bios file is called FZ-10.bin and the emu should have asked you to point to it when first launched. Mine is in the root folder. My emu version is newer than the one in your screen shot 1.3.2.3 If your archives contain iso, then you don't need to use DT Lite as they load fine without.
drusso66 Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Thanks for info, but have tried both different bioses the goldstar and the fZ-10bin and have also tried 3 different emu version including the latest but it always gives same error i have even extarcted a compressed game and left it to load as an iso from the roms folder, this improves the speed the game is loaded but final output is still black screeen as shown in my above pic. I have been reading a tutorial on updating Hyperlaunch HQ via Git, would anyone recommend this, did not want to screw up the rest of my system as all other emus seem to work fine.
drusso66 Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Something i have just realised, when i change the version of the 4DO emulator, eg i have just replaced it with the newer version 1.3.2.3 when i launch it via HLHQ when the small black shows in the bottom left corner it shows the emu version, but it says 1.3.2.1 even though i have copied over the 1.3.2.3 version. If however i start the emulator on its own independant of HLHQ not only does it work fine if i select the About option it tell me the correct 1.3.2.3 version. This is all getting beyond me, does anybody know if the 3DO works through hyperspin via retroarch, because this might be my next option .
drusso66 Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 YES !!!!!!!!! Finally thanks to everyones advice i have it all configured correctly. It was a stupid error on my part really even tough i kept changing the emulator to different versions and selecting the bios etc etc one crucial setp i forgot was the change the emulator path in HLHQ it was still pointing the an older version of the emulator which was in a sub folder in the 4DO folder, and because there was no bios present in that folder it was not doing anything. I have deleted the old folder that was in the 4DO folder and just kept the latest emu with bios etc, pointed HLHQ to that folder and hey presto worked a treat. Thanks to all for your advice

Have you got 2 installs of FourDo and your not pointing to the correct one? Your other question about GIT. I thought you were updating via git judging by your log. I use RetroArch but that is a whole new can of worms. But as your using iso and not cue files, it may be worth a try. You'll need to look through this to get the correct info. http://www.hyperlaunch.net/forum/showthread.php?405-RetroArch-stops-at-the-Insert-Disc-screen-for-Panasonic-3DO&highlight=panasonic%203do&p=5963#post5963 Here is a guide to RetroArch, well worth the trouble. http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?36930-Complete-RetroArch-Guide-For-Noobs It may worth renaming or moving the FourDO.settings file from the FourDO settings folder and then running the emulator again, from scratch.
