Yardley Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Hey guys, when switching between an Xbox controller and a Super Nintendo USB controller (using Xpadder) the mapping gets flipped since the A/B buttons are placed differently on both controllers. As I'm sure most of you know, on the SNES controller its B/A and on the Xbox controller it's A/B. So If I map the controls using the Xbox controller jump will be assigned to the "B" button furthest to the right which is where it should be, but if I switch to the SNES controller the mapping "follows" the B button and since it's backwards on the SNES controller, jump ends up being in the wrong place. Any way to get around this? I can obviously map the buttons to the SNES controller in Xpadder but then if I switch to the Xbox controller it will again be backwards. My goal is to make both interchangeable.
guyverjay Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Shouldn't you be mapping the snes buttons to the correct positions and ignore what letters are where?
Yardley Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 Shouldn't you be mapping the snes buttons to the correct positions and ignore what letters are where? Yes but if I map lets say A/B on the SNES controller, when I plug in and Xbox controller it will automatically switch to B/A on the Xbox controller. I want it to remain consistent across controllers.
damageinc86 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 i would plug in both and leave them plugged in. Map the SNES controller in the SNES emulator and leave it alone after that.
Yardley Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 I got this working through controller specific profiles and HLHQ preferred controllers.
