Blackened15 Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Since spin animation on artwork through hypertheme can't be used properly when you set hyperspin to widescreen I decided to try to find a way around that. I made a set of rotating swf animation for the Sega Dreamcast disc art for widescreen, dont use those if you aren't using widescreen, as the animation might make you dizzy They are in my folder on the ftp: /Upload Here/Blackened15/Widescreen 16x9/Sega Dreamcast/Images/Artwork4 Just put them in your artwork4 folder, and use a default theme that has artwork4 support, or modify one yourself. Make sure artwork4 is NOT set to "spin" in hypertheme, because that would rotate a rotating squashed for widescreen animation and might break the universe. Any animation that doesn't change the orientation of the artwork should be fine although. The files are around 150kb per file, smaller then the original PNG, 30 fps, 2 second for a full rotation, 59 frame animation. And now my question for the people who are used to Flash (this is the first time I've used flash or created an animation whatsoever) The process to make these is pretty simple 1. Resize all your disc image to a common size, 400x400 in this case 2. Create the animation, including 75% width resize on every frame. 3. Publish it to discrotation.swf 4. Open discrotation.swf with Flash decompiler (from Eltima) 5. Swap the Image inside with another disc art lets say "game2.png" 6. Save as "game2.swf" repeat step 5 and 6 until you run out of disc art. I know I could have done step 5 and 6 n Flash Professional, but doing it Flash Decompiler was much faster My question is, how can I automate step 5 and 6. Is there a WORKING command line tool that will let me replace the image inside a simple swf so I can automate this through batch file, or an easy way to script the process in flash builder? I don't see myself doing the whole process of building the animation through script, as I wouldn't have a clue how to.
Blackened15 Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 After a few hours of learning and trial/error, I finally managed to create a flash script that turns a folder of 400x400 png disc scan into a bunch of self-contained disc rotating animation *.swf properly stretched for widescreen Edit: Change to V2, a bit less bumpy 4-3 PNG cd scan to WideScreen Rotating disc swf V2
dark13 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 This is terrific Can I add the script on png to swf thread? Just curious, where did you find references for actionscript code? The biggest problem with flash is you can't record an action as you do in photoshop and in flash you can't see how a certain action is translated into actionscript. About stuttering... well, flash sucks. Having a costant framerate is basically impossibile. Moreover on fast animation a bit of motion blur should be added to improve animation Slowing down rotation should make it better (but it would be a nightmare i guess, as far as i've seen that's a key-by-key script) Automatizing infopanels creation from .csv files for HTPCs themes (look at infopanel tutorial.zip on the ftp in dark13 folder) PNGs to SWFs automatized flash scripts Hyperspin Wheelset automatized template (photoshop's variables + batch) Aeon nox 4.13 W.I.P. hyperspin skin
masterofpuppets152001 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Yes you can post it in your thread. As for where I got the commands I am unsure what you mean. I just used google, which mostly took me to the Adobe page and used the list of auto-completion from the flash scripts editor.
Blackened15 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 sorry, post above is by me but I hadn't found how to switch login on tapatalk yet.
Blackened15 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Also, in flash you can see the result of certain action in script. The History window provides that.
