Mrmikey73 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 I just used hypersync to sync playstation using the XML from hyperlist. I noticed there's a lot of wheel art missing. Does anyone know if this set has been completed? Thanks
Dogway Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Old thread but still on theme? Curious about this too since I have searched a lot but didn't find much (only some random wheel art). I use the normal ones not the framed Kustom ones.
DamnedRegistrations Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 This is one of those projects that got sidetracked and set aside to do other work, there's still a lot missing. There were only two of us working on it. When FTP comes back online, check my upload folder. I did a bunch and should have all the other finished ones too.
Dogway Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Ok, thank you DamnedRegistrations! If then there are only a few of them missing from my game list (I only collect a handful of them - the best IMO) I might finish them and upload to ftp. I only need to create a folder with my name and put my stuff inside right?
DamnedRegistrations Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Yep, that'll be fine. If you don't have a full rom set, you shouldn't worry then. Most of the missing wheels are for crappy games, outdated sports series and obscure titles. Most of the good games have wheels.
DamnedRegistrations Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I see that FTP is back online. I was wrong. I didn't have all the finished wheels in there. So I'm uploading them now. Keep in mind not all of these were made by me and some of the old ones need to be redone. No sense in keeping them hidden from the public though on Dropbox since the project is on hold anyway. Find them at: /Upload Here/DamnedRegistrations/Wheels/Sony PlayStation
Dogway Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Thank you, anyway I had found another good one with 800 wheel titles at PLAYSTATION ART - IN PROGRESS. Still a few are missing so I will check your folder. Now only there is left Nintendo DS wheel, which is being a pain to find. edit: I got a few more, still missing the next, I will try to make them myself and upload later. Dragon Ball - Final Bout (Japan) (v1.1) Dragon Ball Z - Ultimate Battle 22 (Japan) Mickey's Wild Adventure (Europe) (EDC) Tobal 2 (Japan) (v1.1)
DamnedRegistrations Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 That Playstation Art folder is very old and some of the wheels found in there have been redone already. I'm pretty sure I already have everything from it. You might find other wheels scattered around in upload folders too.
Dogway Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Ok, finished the wheel art for the above titles plus some more I had done of PSX and other stuff as well (theme mods, box art, etc), check on my ftp folder. Dragon Ball - Final Bout (Japan) (v1.1) Dragon Ball Z - Ultimate Battle 22 (Japan) Mickey's Wild Adventure (Europe) (EDC) Star Wars - Racer Revenge (USA) Taiko Drum Master (USA) Tenchu - Stealth Assassins (USA) (v1.1) Tobal 2 (Japan) (v1.1) The only single system I'm still seriously lacking in either wheel and box art is NintendoDS, hopefully someone helps with that.
DamnedRegistrations Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Good work but a few notes in case you do any more in the future. 1. Always use the cover art to cut the wheel images from. I'm not sure where you got that Tenchu logo from but it doesn't match the game cover. 2. Try to make sure your image is 400px in width and no higher than 175px in height, that is the standard size of all wheel art. 3. Use the pen tool in Photoshop to cut the images out, there are many tutorials out there if you need help. If I add a 'Stroke' effect to your "Dragon Ball Z - Ultimate Battle 22" wheel I can see lots of stray pixels and noise. There are many DS wheels done actually but it's an ongoing project with a lot still missing, so it hasn't been released to the public yet. I did a few that you can find in my FTP though.
Dogway Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 This wasn't super professional work because I don't have much time to spend, so that's why I also used titles that had flat colors around, so I could use the magic wand or even the color range mask selection (in case of faded shadows, etc like the star wars one). The tenchu wheel art was already existant but I didn't like it was flat white, white on white is invisible, same for black on black, so I always add a glow in white or black for these flat colors. Thanks for the sizes info, I will try to keep the sizes correct. I really scoured the web and ftp for NintendoDS wheel or art, and it's actually the system I find less things about. For wheel I'm missing the next, despite using the European set I actually use NTSC art if I find it, if nobody made them I might actually make some of these: 100 Classic Book Collection (Europe) 42 All-Time Classics (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) (Rev 1) Ace Attorney Investigations - Miles Edgeworth (Europe) Apollo Justice - Ace Attorney (Europe) (Es,It) Art Academy (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) (NDSi Enhanced) [b] Auto Escuela - Aprueba Conmigo (Spain) Big Bang Mini (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) Blue Dragon - Awakened Shadow (Spain) [b] Blue Dragon Plus (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) Cocina Conmigo! - Que Preparamos Hoy (Spain) Contact (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) Cooking Mama (Europe) (De,Es,It) Cooking Mama 2 - Dinner with Friends (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) Densetsu no Stafy 4 (Japan) Disgaea DS (Europe) (En,Fr) Dragon Quest - The Chapters of the Chosen (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) Dragon Quest Monsters - Joker (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) Dragon Quest Monsters - Joker 2 (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) DS Bimoji Training (Japan) DS Rakubiki Jiten (Japan) Elebits - The Adventures of Kai and Zero (USA) (En,Fr) Gyakuten Kenji 2 (Japan) Hirameki Action - Chibikko Wagyan no Ooki na Bouken (Japan) [b] Inazuma Eleven (Spain) [b] Ivy the Kiwi (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) Kenkou Ouen Recipe 1000 - DS Kondate Zenshuu (Japan) Kingdom Hearts - 358-2 Days (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) Kirby - Mouse Attack (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) Legendary Starfy, The (USA) Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 - March of the Minis (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) Metcha! DamnedRegistrations Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I understand about using pen tool, it is more time consuming but it's what is preferred for clean wheel art. I used to do it your way too just using background eraser but you get perfect and accurate cuts with pen tool cuts. You won't find the DS wheels because they're in a private Dropbox folder for the few people working on them for Hyperspin Project. There are still a lot missing though and I was supposed to start helping but I'm sidetracked with other rom stuff and Emumovie recording.
Dogway Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 No problem, I will make some of them then, the most famous. I also got a great template for the DS box. I understand your point, Hyperspin is your project and you want quality, but from my stand point I basically want to have it covered (while not being crap that is). I'm also too busy ATM with other things and can't dedicate half an hour for each wheel, I'm currently making a list of snes games that need 8:7 display aspect ratio instead of 4:3 (actually the other way around it seems).
manicshere Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 People involved with the original NintendoDS artwork project are scattered around and the rest have focused their attention on PSP instead as it has a complete database whereas the DS currently doesn't. Both will be done eventually and then be available to the public
