Hi great tool, I really like how it ca be used to match everything

 

Have you considered add CRC match so files with real extrange names are found based on is CRC found on XML?

 

I do that in my little app called HyperArchiver some time ago: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/1931-hyperarchiver-0007

It search rom files, zip them thogeter and create the rommapping.ini so you can have 2 or more versions of the same game inside a zip, and Rocketlauncher will ask you wich one you want to launch

 

The app is writen in AutoIt and the source is included (is a mess ). Im no updating that anymore but will be nice to see all features in a single app

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, its funny how you create something for yourself and suddenly lots of people wants to use it =)

I have not considered doing that actually. Its kinda totally in the opposite direction of how this program works. I guess I could give it a try.

Another thing I wanted to add was the ability to match .zipped roms. You can do that today, but only the zip file changes name, not the rom inside of it. I usually get passed that by extracting all the roms, doing a match/rename on the extracted files and then zipping them back up, but I'd be nice to do it directly.

Here is a test of 1.14b1 with CRC support when using an XML. Thanks knewlife. I stole some code and found that XMLDomWrapper.au3 was a lot faster in reading the XML than my own little hack, so started using that one instead. Sped it up a LOT initially when reading XML (If using that as source names).

Glad you can use some of the code. XMLDomWrapper has been updated since I release that but the new version is very confusing... I spend hours yesterday trying to make the last version work... Just because I want the latest version...

So keep using the old version

I use 7z command line utility to zip files in HyperAechiver but you can use the 7z.dll that allows you to get data from files without uncompress them.. If I remember right you can get the CRC of files inside an 7z archive... I might be wrong...
