micahlee Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Hello, I am using RocketLauncher, and HyperSpin v1.3 and my PC Games will not start. I just started adding them, so I haven't actually started using them in hyperspin, only in RL. I set up my Emulator to be a virtual emulator, with PCLauncher as the module. When I add a PC Game, I do it through Modules->PCLauncher.ahk->edit system specific module settings. From here I simply link the application (exe) and try to launch the game from here. When I launch the game I get a message that RocketLauncher could not find an Emu_Path for PC Launcher in either of these two files: ...\Emulators.ini

I click on "Edit Global Module Settings", then click on the green + to add a game from my database, double click the game, then add the path to its executable (for non-Steam games that is) What is your PC system called and do your paths (databases, media etc...) match to that name?
micahlee Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 I have tried both ways, and they both produce the same error. The paths do match correctly. All my other emulators work find, it's only PC Games
Metalzoic Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Only non Steam PC games? If you're sure all paths are right, your PC Launcher system name matches, you have PCLauncher set up globally, database is right then I don't know. Maybe Rocketlauncher handles PC games differently than HyperlaunchHQ. In HQ you don't even set a "rom" path for PC games. What do you have in that folder that the error is asking you about?
micahlee Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 I didn't place anything in there, it's the automatically generated files. emulators.ini contains this: [ROMS] Default_Emulator=PC Launcher Rom_Path= Other files are Bezel.ini, Games.ini, Pause.ini, RocketLauncher.ini
Metalzoic Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Hmmm. I'm using HLHQ not RL, but in my Hyperspin/HyperlaunchHQ/Settings folder I only have HyperlaunchHQ.ini and FrontEnds.ini and I've never touched them. Since it's looking for a rom path maybe you accidentally enabled a rom path somewhere. Try going into your Hyperspin/Settings folder and find the .ini for whatever you named your PC system (mine is simply names PC Games for both Steam and non-Steam games) open it and make sure UseRomPath isn't set to true instead of false. Other than that I'm a super noob and have no idea. Good luck! EDIT: How do you have it set in HyperHQ? Did you add a rom path there or click any of the rom path buttons?
micahlee Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 No there are no rom paths. This also prevents me from setting up Taito Type X games as well. Hopefully someone can help me
32assassin Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Hello, I am using RocketLauncher, and HyperSpin v1.3 and my PC Games will not start. When I launch the game I get a message that RocketLauncher could not find an Emu_Path for PC Launcher in either of these two files: ...\Emulators.ini first off why would you place Hyerspin in your program folders? your PC will place security restrictions on any program you install in your program files. second. you do not set up any emulators for any of the PC games. this is why you are getting an error of game not found in your Emu_Path as mentioned go to your Global emulators tab and make your PC launcher a virtual emulator go to your PC Games system make your default emulator --> PC launcher [Global] click on your Games tab do a system audit all your PC games will be red(report as missing). their is no emulator path or rom extension. your PC games will ALWAYS be reported as missing. ignore that fact and run all your emulators you will generate some type of missing game/rom/path error. when you generate this error; Rocketlauncher will make an entry of the game to your PClauncher.ini file. Open your PClauncher.ini file found here --> RocketLauncher\Modules\PCLauncher\PCLauncher.ini go down the list you should find your game in the list [YOUR GAME NAME] Application= after you find the game add the full path to your exe. Make sure to included the extension of the game. example [YOUR GAME NAME] Application=C:\Program files\Your Game Name.exe launch game again. with he path added to the INI; you should be able to start your game. depending on the game you might need to add more info, this needs to be handled on a game by game basis. [Example] Application= AppWaitExe= DiscImage= Parameters= SteamID= OriginGame= WorkingFolder= PreLaunch= PreLaunchParameters= PreLaunchSleep= PostLaunch= PostLaunchParameters= PostLaunchSleep= PostExit= PostExitParameters= PostExitSleep= ExitMethod= FadeTitle= FadeInExitSleep= HideCursor=
rope321 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Hi, I am having the same issue. When I load the mame game from Hyper HQ it crashes the emulator mame. If I load the game from MAME directly everything runs fine. What is the issue. Thanks, ROPE321
micahlee Posted May 11, 2015 Author Posted May 11, 2015 Hi I tried the above, and RL still gives me the same error
micahlee Posted May 12, 2015 Author Posted May 12, 2015 I found the answer in the rocket launcher forums. You need to set skip emu and rom checks in the settings for that system.

Is that something specific to the new RL? I don't remember having to do that at all in Hyperlaunch HQ. This is exactly why I'm leery of updating to Rocketlauncher... Little changes that may Bork up my perfectly running PC games.

Apparently a few other people had the problem because there were a few posts I found about it
