Jobber8742 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I've been seeing this problem on the boards a lot, but I can't find an answer really anywhere. Maybe it's obvious, but I can't seem to figure it out. The roms will load fine in MAME. The roms will load fine in RocketLauncher, but the roms will not load in HyperSpin. I did a fresh install of HyperSpin 1.4 beta and RocketLauncher. It's my understanding that I didn't need to use that transition tool for HyperLaunch to RocketLauncher since the beta doesn't need it, but I can't get the roms to load. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Some screenshot are below to show how I have things set up. I've sort of followed Austin's video tutorial, except that I have created separate folders for emulators, rocketlauncher, and hyperspin. Folder structure looks like this: D:\Hyperspin D:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncherUI D:\Emulators\Mame0161\mame64.exe D:\Emulators\Mame0161\roms
mobly100 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I have the same issue. I tried the beta and the 133 version. Same problem.
mobly100 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Settings.ini in Hyperspin looks like this: Last_System=Super Nintendo Entertainment System Hyperlaunch_Path=C:\rlauncher\RocketLauncher\ I am using hyperspin 1.3.3.0 I tried the beta and the same thing happens. mobly100 Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 It's all about the path: I changed my folder names to the below and changed the path and now its works! So if you cant launch games in Hyperspin and it works in Rocketlauncher...look in two places: Hyperlaunch_Path=C:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe Click RocketlauncherUI click the rocketlauncherUI tab then click the frontends tab and make sure hyperspin in set as the front end. If hyperspin is not listed there add it!

I have the same setup and configuration that you have and still see issues loading any roms from Hyperspin. My settings ini file includes the right Hyperlaunch path and Hyperspin has been chosen as my front end in RocketlaucherUI.
ghutch92 Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Steps 5 through 16 in this install guide will walk you through the setup process again http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/2187-how-to-install-hyperspin/ Make sure you separated the rocketlauncher and hyperspin folders like in the guide I linked. If rocketlauncher.exe is in the same folder as hyperspin.exe, you need to start over. If you are still having issues make sure the names of the roms match the database names.
Spawk Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Just my 2 cents, but Mame has always expected all roms and chd folders to be in the ..\Mame\roms\ directory. You can set it up with different paths, but is there a real benefit from going against the grain on this one?
Styphelus Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I keep all my roms in Hyperspin\Roms\Mame Why? Because that's where all my roms are. The benefit is organization. It's really easy to add an additional path to Mame. It's a lot better to keep all roms for all systems in the hyperspin\roms folder. If you're going to keep them in emulator dependent folders you will have a hell of a time when you start adding more and more systems.
