A couple Daphne questions.

I updated my old version of Daphne and now DLair & Space Ace no longer work. Bummer.

 

Question 1.

After messing with it since 7am it seems I need to get the actual Digital Leisure DVD's to get DLair 1 & 2, Space Ace, Thayers quest etc... to work again.

But according to the pop-up it can either be PC versions or Playstation/Xbox versions? Is that right? Once I have the actual discs then Daphne will let me run any Rom version (such as enhanced 2.0) correct?

I have it on PSP and Vita, had it on PS3, 3DO and Philips. And just last year gave away my actual DVD versions. Looks like I'm about to spend another $100 or so to get them working in Daphne. Add in quarters in the arcade and I bet I've spent more money on these games in my life than any others.

 

 

Question 2

My rom/mpeg/files are old so I want to make sure I have the latest versions. Does anyone know which are newest and which I should download? The bottom one looks correct size wise, but it's dated older than what I have and is 2gigs smaller, it also says it's version .997 so what the hell? I also have several Dragons Lair Roms in MAME, but none of them show up in HL or in Hyperspin. Are they disabled because they don't work in MAME? Would those be the latest versions and could be re-named to use in Daphne?

 

Hopefully someone can clear this up before I knock this cab over and set it on fire.

Daphne will download encrypted versions of the games DL, DL2 SA, and TQ 

 

when you insert the DVDs the folder where the encrypted folder will double in size.

 

You will need to get the DVDs made by Digital Leisure  and say "Xbox compatible" on the cover.

 

 

shop around I"m sure you can get them for less then $15 each.   some "Pirate"  site by some unknown "bay" had disc images.  I personally never downloaded them and would encourage to purchase them from

digital leisure.  but I read somewhere that they no longer sell them so its off to ebay.

I"m not 100% sure but I think the latest version of Daphne will download the latest roms.

Ah I get it. It doesn't mean an Xbox version, it just said "Xbox/PS2 compatible" because they played DVD's then. Got it.

Yeah the Digital Leisure site doesn't show them for sale anymore. Amazon has them for about $25 each. I'll see what I can find.

I had just figured out the latest Daphne will download the other roms/mpegs. I think it didn't prompt me to because I already had my old ones in the folder. Once I did a completey fresh install it prompted me to download them.

Thanks for your help. Looks like I'll be waiting a bit to get the DL games running, but on the plus side this latest Daphne runs the games in 4:3 on a widescreen monitor without distortion like the old version. Will be great once I have it complete.
