Sega CD Vs. Sega 32X?

Ok, so after some playing around I got RetroArch to load Sega CD games using the genesis.dll and Sega CD 32X games to load using the pico.dll

When launching a regular Sega CD test game from HS I am still getting this error:

"RetroArch [ERROR]  ::  load_symbols :: Failed to open dynamic library: "Z:\Hyperspin\Emulators\Sega CD\cores\genesis_plus_gx_libreto.dll"

RetroArch [ERROR] :: rarch_main_init :: Fatal error received in: "load_dynamic()"

Here is my HyperHQ

Here are my two ini files.

Thanks again for your help. I feel like I am getting very close!

I changed the parameters in my sega cd.ini file to use the full path: parameters=-L Z:\Hyperspin\Emulators\Sega CD\cores\genesis_plus_gx_libreto.dll

For sure it is caused by space in the path. Did you tried adding the path inside double quotes?

When I add the quotes I get my original error message.

"RetroArch [ERROR]  ::  load_symbols :: Failed to open dynamic library: "Z:\Hyperspin\Emulators\Sega CD\cores\genesis_plus_gx_libreto.dll"

RetroArch [ERROR] :: rarch_main_init :: Fatal error received in: "load_dynamic()"

If you can load the core and game fine in RetroArch itself, but you get that error when launching from HS, it suggests your cores aren't actually in "Z:\Hyperspin\Emulators\Sega CD\cores\". At least that's the only thing I can think of.

Can you post a screenshot of your explorer window when you're in the folder where "genesis_plus_gx_libreto.dll" is?

Ok, well that rules out it being a path mistake :)

I wonder if command line loading the core doesn't like NTFS compression for some reason. You could try turning that off just to see (right click the .dll, properties, advanced, uncheck compress contents to save disk space).
