I have most systems loaded into HQ now, and it's coming along great! For some reason I can't get Sega Genesis to configure correctly. I set it up like the other systems, retroarch as the emulator, but then it scans the rom folders and no games show up. Anyone else have this problem with Sega?
-
I also tried downloading a few themes in HyperTheme to HQ and when I try to select them for a collection they aren't available.

Thanks Team! May have been the EmuMovies... I got that logged in and all the artwork etc is there! I ended up deleting the new Mame .284 I had downloaded and reverting back to the MAME set I had from the old computer which was organized and worked well for me. Seems to be working! I've started adding other systems now and everything seems to be going well. When I launch the games in Hyperspin (either Mame or Retroarch) none of the keyboard buttons seems to be working... only ENTER and ESC. Anyone have trouble with the keyboard buttons? I will soon be setting this up in my cabinet with an IPAC 2 setup, but I think I need the keyboard working correctly before that setup...

Okay thank you. I can get some of the games to fire up in Mame outside of hyperspin. Still no artwork. I truncated the set to parents only and got rid of all the casino games, fruit games, quiz games, etc. Down to about 3000. Wondering why no MEDIA. Do I need to download the artwork or .dat, .ini, files separately from the ROMS/CHD's? I found: progetto-SNAPS Support Files So at this point there's no way to organize the games by system (NES, SEGA, etc) on the wheel in 2.0?

So I have HyperHq and HyperSpin downloaded and setup, along with MAME emulator and ROM (unmerged) and CHD sets from MAME .284 loaded in (almost 1 TB of data). There's over 40,000 games, which is entirely overwhelming and none have any media according to HyperHQ and none will launch... The old computer I have running my cabinet arcade has Hyperspin 1.5 hyperspin has all the games organized nicely on the wheel by system. I am hoping to replicate that with the newer faster computer and updated game ROMS. Looking for advice on if I should try and figure out how to make this MAME set work or if it's easier to find and download Games in sets or individually. I have read through the DOCS extensively to try and figure out what I am missing to no avail. I am new to this setup effort and curious if others have had success with getting a large MAME ROM set uploaded and nicely organized with artwork and media in HyperHQ or if I might be better off loading in games individually or via another route.

Okay thank you. I'll go into Mame itself and see what I can sort out... appreciate the guidance. -

Thank you! I will dig into those Docs. So you think the issue I am having is in the HQ setup not the way I have the ROMS/CHDs saved? -

Well I reinstalled all of the plugins and I got HyperSpin up working, but none of the games have any images and won't launch... there's also just a list of 40k+ games on the wheel... I am thinking perhaps the giant Mame .284 set is problematic... my old setup was nicely organized on the wheel by system. Was hoping to replicate that. Any help appreciated! -

Oh man, sorry in advance or not being able to navigate this myself! I am having two issues now: First, the games in MAME .284 are all showing up but there's no artwork covers and maybe no media? I downloaded unmerged ROMS and CHD's. Saved them in the same root file under F:/ Mame .284. Second, when I try to launch Hyperspin or test/play now any game, nothing happens. Hyperspin won't launch. DO i need to download HS seperately from HyperHQ? I don't see a Hyperspin Program separate from HQ as I did on the old HS 1.5. Thanks in advance... -
Oh man... I didn't mean to respond here. sorry.

Never mind, I clicked "reinstall" in the HyperHQ plugin menu and it seems to be working. Thank you! -

Ah... thank you! Yes it's there for me. Would the solution be to uninstall MAME .284 and install it on my own before the hyperHQ setup and select that I already have it? -

Perhaps i should download MAME .284 separately instead of having the HyperHQ setup download it? -

Hi there! I have downloaded the latest Mame Rom Set (unmerged) and CHDs, all saved on a dedicatd SSD F: drive (see image) as well as the latest updated HyperHQ. When I go through the add system wizard I get this error message: MAME Setup Failed: Plugin not founds: mame. ANY suggestions? -

Also, sorry for what may be a dumb question… where is the download link for HS2 beta? I only see 1.5 in the downloads section. -

Awesome! Thank you. The few HS2 videos I watched did seem to offer an easier setup than what I gather HS1 entailed. Think it’s worth downloading the latest MAME library vs using all my old files I copied over from the last machine? I image there’s been many updates to some of the games… -
Hello all! I am a brand new member here and somewhat new to the retro gaming/emulation world. I am BLOWN away by the collective brain power behind HyperSpin and information on this forum as I muddle my way through a steep learning curve! So thank you to all the developers and members in advance! I am hoping for some direction and help with a build I am working on... I bought my 9 year old son a retro standup 2-player gaming arcade for Christmas on FB Marketplace (which I didn't know would also come with a new project for me. Wife is thrilled). The gentleman I bought it from did an EXCEPTIONAL job building the machine probably ~10-15 years ago. A mini HP PC (Windows 10) is running Hyperspin 1.5.1 with large MAME library and iPAC 2 (older legacy PS/2 version) for the two joystick and 7 button layouts (plus 1 player/2 player, $.25 buttons, side volume buttons, side paddle buttons) and trackball. It's got a built in fan, 5 channel speaker setup, 4:3 monitor. He even soldered in a 3.5MM jack connection on the front of the PC to the board for an on/off arcade button on the back of the cabinet. The problem is (and he warned me), the computer is old and often crashes or get's stuck loading games and is slow to load up, etc. He recommended replacing it, but did mention it's not easy... Well I am always up for a project (wife rolls eyes) so I did some homework online and ordered a Beelink SER5 Max and a second 1TB SSD (1.5TB total). Figured I could transfer all the files and programs exactly from the old machine with the drives named the same, etc and it should work right? Well... sort of. I got Hyperspin to work, all the systems and games to work, but can't get the keyboard buttons to map and can't get any of the arcade controls to work (I realized my old IPAC PS/2 likely wouldn't work well with Windows 11, so I have ordered a new version of the Ipac 2 which will come in a few days). After messing with it for several hours yesterday I had what I think is an epiphany... Why am I trying to replicate a 10+ year old build? I really wanted to keep HyperSpin (vs Batocera, etc) and figured it would be simple and easy to transfer, but with the issues I've run into, I have decided I'd rather start fresh with HyperSpin 2.0 and the latest MAME library. I watched a couple YouTube videos on 2.0 and it looks really impressive! So... I am here hoping for direction on any helpful existing posts or tutorials on HyperSpin 2.0 (Is it even available for the public? I donated $50 not sure if that matters for access), and integrating the latest MAME library. Sorry for the NOOB post! I am NOT a savvy computer programmer but am willing to put the effort in to learn and figure this out! Any help GREATLY appreciated. IMG_3541.HEIC
