Hi all, I'm new to HyperSpin 2 Beta and have successfully imported MAME and SNES using my existing ROM folders. Coming from RetroBat and LaunchBox, I'm used to running CRT shaders, bezels, overlays and screen borders (for example Mega Bezel, CRT Royale, arcade bezels, TV overlays, etc.). What is the recommended approach in HyperSpin 2? Do most users configure these directly in the emulator (MAME, RetroArch, etc.), or is there a HyperSpin-specific method for managing shaders, bezels and overlays? I'd like to recreate the CRT look and arcade cabinet bezels I'm currently using in RetroBat. Thanks.

Hey guys, been using retroarch for quite a while since its reliable and RA's work flawlessly. I downloaded the evaluation version of hyperspin yesterday and i absolutely love it. However I couldn't get my retro achievements working Does everything work well on the paid version? I'm ready to switch over but i have to have my cheevos, as the kids call them.

I cannot seem to get my arcade buttons mapped in Hyperspin. They are mapped for every game and emulator I have, but even after the latest updates I cannot get Hyperspin to map them. The joystick and buttons are Ultimarc Ultra-Stik USB controllers, probably 10 years old. As you can see in the video it lets me map the buttons in controller settings but then they don’t work in Hyperspin. Any help appreciated! IMG_5194.mov

After the latest update I can’t get HyperSpin to launch any MAME games. The system tries to launch the emulator, emulator glitches and the game fails to launch. Just started after latest HQ update. No problem leaching games from MAME outside of Hyperspin. Didn’t touch the settings. Any help appreciated IMG_5193.mov ?

Paid for the beta, I've downloaded and reinstalled a few times but only have hyperhq and no hyperspin. Am I missing somthing? Not in the hyperspin path or anywhere else on the pc. **EDIT figured it out, in case it happens to anyone else, hyperspin didn't extract itself, was stuck in a zip in the hyperspincore folder, manually extracted and all is well now

Is there a way to delete the system theme videos, and just have it display a random video from that theme instead? On my racing cabs, its completely bizarre to show this video (for example) as this game won't be found on the cabinet at all. (the system theme is off too, but that's on me to figure out) I dislike the montage system theme videos all together, because they often display games I don't even have on the system. But I haven't figured out how to remove them yet. 🙂

Thank you dev team for all the improvements in the latest update! Hopping someone can help me with steam games: I only have three (Skyforce anniversary, Skyforce reloaded and Cuphead). I can't seem to figure out how to get the preview video up for the game menu. See image below. Also, when I added the Steam games it added both Skyforce games but Cuphead isn't there. Anyone with Steam experience please help! Thanks!

Hi, how do you tell HyperSpin to look at an external drive for all media? I am struggling to grasp the concept of overrides if this is the way to do it and seems a but long winded, but that might just be my lack of understanding? I have read and re-read the documentation but it's still not very clear. I am currently using LaunchBox but have always been a fan of HyperSpin so I am evaluating whether to move back to HyperSpin. But a lot of my media is downloaded for Launchbox so it would be great to easily share the same media for videos, boxes etc. I understand HyperSpin specific media like wheels, themes etc. would be separate. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I've been working on a project off and on for a long while now. I've got a Daytona Twin cabinet that I've built for playing racing games. I've got it working with twin games for the most part, but the front end has always been lacking to me. (LaunchBox/BigBox currently). I have my computer build ready to install in my arcade machine. I bought a new IPAC2 and am a little intimidated to set it up. Anyone have any good tips/ tutorials? For now I currently have retroarch and MAME as the two emulators setup in HyperHQ. Retroarch running PlayStation (swamststion), saga, Nintendo NES, Nintendo 64, Assuming I need to program the keyboard to match the ipac2 settings in retroarch and mame each individually. What about the CORE’s in Retroarch? here are pics of the current arcade setup. It has the audio volume buttons and the mouse keys and trackball (pointer mouse) setup in addition to the buttons/joysticks. I plan to replicate the settings…

Just did two installs on my Daytona Twin cabinets. These were fresh installs on Windows 11. This is just some observations... Install wizard feels polished since the last time I tried it. Overall pretty good... Expect the initial system setup. You go through each step to add your first system, then get to platform (why not just call this emulator? that's what it is?) and you click "add platform" - and it completely drops the system process. So you add your platform (emulator), then have to start the system setup all over again. Just a little clunky. Plugins - MAME is different on each install. See screenshot. And lastly - 2nd ins…

Starting a standalone thread to track this issue. Regardless of emulator Hyperspin is getting stuck everytime I close a game. Sounds like the dev team is working on this (🙏) but wanted to see if everyone is having this problem…

Anyone had luck with Playstation games launching in HS with either Retroarch or Duckstation? I have 3 Playstation games and can't get any to work inside HS. They work in Retroarch and Duckstation separately. I have the defualt emulator to duckstation.

Hi, Not sure what's going on but I have a curated set of 300 MAME 0.283 non-merged Roms. I did a fresh install of HyperQ & HyperSpin. I select my MAME executable, Rom directory and options etc. Start the install process. HyperQ is importing 14,398 roms. I don't know where it's getting that amount from, but it's like it ignores my curated romset and imports every single arcade game playable in MAME. I've probably tried from scratch about 5 times now and it's always ending up with the 14,398 games. Are there any known bugs right now with the MAME import process? Thanks

Hello all! I am a brand new member here and somewhat new to the retro gaming/emulation world. I am BLOWN away by the collective brain power behind HyperSpin and information on this forum as I muddle my way through a steep learning curve! Hello. I have a problem with the latest Hyperspin 2 install, I installed HQ (on Drive E:) and Hyperspin but i get a blank screen when HS boots up. I have tried reinstalling plugins, i have tried deleting the cache, i have tried uninstalling HQ and deleting leftover folders. Fresh install dont solve it. So i moved to my other computer, lets call it computer number 2. Did install HQ at preset path (C:), HS was working! . wanted to try have it on another drive so i deleted everything. installed it again on Drive D; Got the same problem again on this computer also.
