Thanks Krakerman. Made a new border for your vertical bezels and updated the pack with all your new ones.
Except for Carnival & Looping. Those games are both Vertical, but your bezel is horizontal? I had to leave those two out.

Damn!

Guys. Where might I download these from ? The onedrive link isn't working as the sharers limit has been exceeded.
Yep, like Agent said so many people are constantly downloading it you just need to check once in a while to see if space/bandwidth has opened up for you.

Damn man. You're on a roll.

Sweet!

Nice I probably won't add these re-releases to the pack though since I already have all your existing work in there all ready.
Will you mention when one is new so I know though? That would help.

Looks like you're redoing your library.

Whatever you prefer man. Personally I like my games at the standard 3:4 & 4:3 so I say the narrower one.
But I drop a new border on top of yours that converts them to full-size 3:4 anyway so no worries. I just have to make custom ones for yours so they line up with your 3D angles.

Slightly tried to keep it relatively close to previous. Moving forward the dimensions for my horizontal and vertical bezels will be the final revision.
Ok. I'll have to create a new border overlay for yours before I add these newest ones to my pack then. This is your 3rd change! You're a crazy man!

This new border has different dimensions again?

I just set up a new Global Emulator and named it MAMEalt. Pointed to an older folder with 172 and it seems to work fine and didn't need to set up a full system so all good.
Thanks.
Now I have the broken games fixed and the broken GLSL/HLSL games fixed.
Hopefully they have both issues completely fixed in MAME 175. If they do and there aren't any new issues maybe I'll be able to lock that one in and never mess with it again.
-
Oh and I forgot to mention that Jezze posted a fix for the games with broken HLSL in my topic about it.
-
For those problem titles using older version using alternative emulator in RLUI.
Yeah, I've run across a few broken games in 174 too.
What's the easiest way to set up a secondary MAME as the alt emulator? Is there a way to do it without setting up an entire alternate MAME system?

I just added Blades of Steel to my favorites on Saturday and thought "to bad it has no bezel" and then you give me one!Welp, there was another hockey one out there that for which I couldn't find a bezel, so I made one. It's kinda ghetto, but if anyone wants it, here it is. It's made for 16:9 with a 1920x1080 resolution. Thanks again to all you real artists and photoshoppers out there that contributed to this project. Hopefully the link works ok.
Nice. I'll add it soon.

What do you mean by "Default-z"? Ah... Do you mean when you downloaded the whole folder it named the zip file _Default.zip? Basically you should have a zip with 1063 other zips in it, each named after the game the bezel goes to.
After you unzip them all into rocketlauncher>media>bezels>MAME you should have a folder called _defaults at the top followed by 1063 other folders named after the games.

Is that a vertical game or a horizontal game?
It looks almost perfectly square in that pic.
-
RocketLauncher bezels like these go in your RocketLauncher>Media>Bezels>MAME folder.and the default folder MAME folder is not a zip file it is a folder.
They need to be unzipped. Any bezels you have in that folder backup first so you don't mix them (for example your _Default bezels)
"In the MAME module settings make sure bezelMode = Use RocketLaunch"
That setting would be in the MAME module settings in RocketLauncher (same screen all the other MAME module settings are like HLSL, GLSL, Videomode, Legacy Mode etc...).
If it isn't there then maybe they removed it from the most recent module (instructions are from the module prior to the latest.

Yes, because those are the actual bezels. The artwork itself is named "Background". This structure let's me build the pack without needing to rename every single file manually. It also means I don't need a separate ini file for every single piece of art. It also let's RL randomly apply a bezel to a background.Hmmmm... okay, looking again at the Aliens file by way of example, the only ini files I see are for the monitor screen bezels.
Yes. The ini tells the game what size and where it will be displayed. the bezel itself will always be centered in relation to the screen and has no positioning ini of its own. Those coordinates relate to the game display rather than the positioning of the bezel?
Since I use a Background + Bezel structure, and many games have multiple backgrounds, I need two bezels ((1) & (2) & sometimes (3)). If there were only one bezel and you tried to switch to the next bezel it wouldn't switch because there would be no 2nd bezel to switch too. Everytime you switch bezels, RL also randomly changes the Bachround art.And I'm confused as to why there's two seemingly identical bezels for the monitor ( (1) and (2) ) and how RL would know which one to use. And I guess RL cycles through the backgrounds rather the bezels?
No worries. This isn't at all a normal way to set bezels up. The Background + Bezel structure isn't what you would see looking at other bezel packs at all. And the random structure I use I came up with after tinkering with it, but it solved two problems. 1 It lets me make mass changes to files easily. 2 It was the only way to make them all look uniform because I can layer the bezel border onto existing art instead of needing to actually alter every single piece of art in photoshop. 3 It lets me randomize them, so I only need 2 bezels and 2 ini's for most games even if a game has 10+ backgrounds which makes it much easier to manage, add to and alter. You don't have to answer all of this - as a noob, I'm likely just not digging far enough to figure this out. I'm also pretty sure that if I found the originals (for example again with Aliens, the ones by Ashurax and Vaughn), I'd see how their ini files sort these out, so that would answer my questions.
-
I just answered my own question, I guess, by looking at the Aliens bezel file (and I guess they don't all have "Aliens" in the lower right corner
) I didn't see anything there that would allow for a cycling through different window sizes that would associate with the bezel. I'm not at this point exactly sure how to mess with the window size anyway, but as I keep saying... 1st I want to get my systems working with RL and HS, then I'll worry about tweaking details. Thanks guys!
(And thanks to Krakerman for Asteroids... )
It's the ini file that tells it what size to display the game at, so each differing size would needs its own differing ini file.
Not a big deal as the original bezels came with their original screen coordinate ini's. So if you went and found them they would also have that part. Except for maybe 300 or so that had no ini's with them when I found them... Err... actually there are also another 300-400 that don't have RL ini's. Most of those are the same creators and the same window size so You'd really only need to make a few ini files that you could just copy/paste... but renaming each one of them might take a long effing time. Which is why I didn't do it that way with this pack and went with a Background/border random structure. That let me alter thousands of bezels without needeing to rename each one manually.

Is it possible in RL to be able to cycle in-game not only between available bezels, but between available window sizes to match the bezels? That way we'd have the best of both worlds and be able to quickly cycle to a size and bezel we like rather than having to replace the bezel file if we wanted to switch. And that way, too, we'd have one massive bezel packet that would make everyone happy.
You can't do that automatically.
You would have to manually create and mix a pack together to be that way. So using your Aliens as an example you could find the original bezel and its matching ini, add it that way into the same folder and make sure your naming convention makes managing all the thousands of folders & bezels as easy as possible (and so they don't conflict)
If you don't care about it being a bit of a mess and hard to update then you could just go find all the originals I used to put this pack together (names for most are credited in the first post) and dump them into these folders. That would be the easiest way to do it and probably wouldn't take to long although several hundred of them need to be downloaded individually and several hundred also need ini's created since they didn't have any... And there are a hundred more or so that I ran across randomly and I'm not sure who the creator is.

Nice, thanks to Krakerman, Vaughan, and I guess Metalzoic too. I just snagged 'em so the link is working again.
Yeah, it only blocks you if there are a bunch of others already mass downloading it.
Thanks for letting us know it cleared... for now.
