GoldenTee Fore! games missing from brolly's database

Hi guys,

I loaded up brolly's MAME.xml for 0.163 and noticed that only 3 of the GTF series are showing up in the list of games.  Complete, 5, and one other are missing.

 

Any ideas?

I must have done something wrong cause I can't see them either. I see them in the XML but I couldn't see them on the wheel last night. Funny story, I pulled the 0.163 DB that had no casino and mahjong - Thinking yep, what could possibly be an issue with mature rated games?

 

Anyway I am then flicking through the mame wheel near bed time and I leave it running to go to the bathroom and a few seconds later my wife is yelling down the hall "What the hell is our (2yr old) son watching???" And I go out to look at the TV and there's this awesome theme of some R rated game with some totally nude chick face down, ass up -  he's standing about a foot in front of the TV and taking it all in. Just thought I'd share that.

I can't figure it out.  I even deleted his 0.162 xml and replaced it with 0.163 instead of overwriting it.  I only see 3 of the GTF games in the list.

 

Thoughts?

Yeah, I have all ROMs and CHDs up through 0.163 and compiled the latest build of MAME 0.163.  Been doing this for years with every release and I just drop brolly's MAME.xml into the MAME database folder and it works like a champ.

If games are on the XML, but not showing in your wheel then you probably have some setting enabled that is filtering them out like roms only, wheels only, etc.

 

About the mature game showing, I can't fix it unless you tell me the game name. Mature games are based off catlist so if a game isn't cataloged as mature in catlist (and I'm sure some aren't) I need to manually add it.

Thanks Brolly, but it was my fault as I chose that database cause I enjoy playing Miss World Nude, So it was supposed to be in there. I'm also pretty sure I may have roms only selected. I'll report back.

I discovered a fix for my setup. My updates did not have all the zip file roms in it. It only had thee of the seven or so games. If you copy the newest of the three and rename it, they all use the same rom, just different chds. All worked for me.

There's no need for any tricks, just NEVER enable roms only on MAME because it makes no sense and will always cause games to be missing from your list as there's no direct relation between all game names and the actual roms.

Wait in rocketlauncherhq I though you had said that under rom check you should check "roms only". When it was set to false, many were having issues right?

Well, I have the right database, I've looked in it and the games are there, I have tried: Rom Only, Rom Extension and False and none of them show up on the wheel. Even ran an audit and the games show up there too. Are there any other settings anywhere I may have missed? I am expecting to find Golden Tee Fore listed with the other Golden Tees right?

First, open the XML you are using and see if the game you want is there. If it is then it will show on your HS wheel unless you are filtering it out (roms only, wheels only, themes only, etc.).

 

Just to make it clear once again, Roms Only should always be disabled in HyperHQ for MAME or you will always have games missing.

Yes, all sorted, I was filtering it out in HyperHQ, but as I'd recently done the upgrade to RL I got confused with the names and when you were talking about filtering I thought you meant the skip checks section in RL even though it was all clearly stated in many messages above. I was confused thanks to the name change, oh well, cheers all, moving on...

That's exactly what the problem was for me.  Problem solved!  Not sure why I had that setting enabled.
