captainsingle Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I have to say - this is AWESOME. My wife and I love this film, and adding FFJ to my cab just feels right. Thanks for sharing this!

frostyfire03530 Posted June 24, 2013 Author Posted June 24, 2013 @warriorpoet: Great work on the game! I've been busy with this semester's classes, I thought I'd drop in between homework assignments I do have a couple of questions regarding your compiled game: 1.) In order to do the rotation, did you have to completely recompile the code? (It seemed that way when I inspected the .exe). 2.) Is there a way to compile your executable to do the rotation, but it's still dependent on the original games file-structure/resources? (I ask because it's easier to update and choose which modifications one would want for the game, for instance: the fixing tone you have chosen I haven't implemented yet, and I do have more sounds and textures that I have updated, but haven't posted yet.) 3.) If the executable could be run alongside the original being dependant upon it. (Like a batch that runs alongside the original. This way I would feel comfortable posting your executable straight to the wiki since it wouldn't include the entire source code, just your modified code). I'll also post this as a PM incase you're not subbed to the thread.
SORHP Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 reply to my post... is it possible for some reason that the graphics chip is not powerful enough to support the game, the game has a ram foot print of about 80mb, and the computer has the ability to use ram as video memory, I dont know how to tell how much video memory is needed, or what exact requirements this pc is not meetingwill a video card possibly help? reply to my post with my findings... I installed a video card, and it fix all of the problems with the game not fully loading. My Arcade Machines...
SORHP Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Just wandering if anyone can contact anyone they know that has an up to date D1$ney version of this game, with the bugs worked out of it that we could share between us that have a FIFJR Arcade machine, sure would be handy to have as many working versions of this as possible to pick and choose which to play in our cabs. Sjaaks version is very nice, and my favorite so far, but I'd still like to have the official final version from the original My Arcade Machines...
SORHP Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Hey Guys! Sjaak!, RidicRick! I super excited, my FiFjr Cab is Getting really close to being finished! Sjaaks Version is the Best so far!, I haven't tried BBB's yet though... My Arcade Machines...

Visitor Q Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Sorry anyone who sent me a PM asking for the game please send me again. I deleted the PM's by mistake. I will reply -I have FIXIT wrapped in several version, one includes Yellow Bezel - full screen centered for Horizonal Mons, Same one without Yellow Bezel, Rotated screen 90, Rotated 270 and straight fullscreen if your monitor is already rotated. Here the link to my wrapped games - all have the updated sounds and graphics http://sdrv.ms/11q7IBM Regards. Is there a way to configure the controls in there versions?
SORHP Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Thanks guys!!! Visitor Q, the only way with the wrapped version is to use xpadder, or go to the byoac forums and sweet talk and donate to sjaak for possible access to something real sweet! *** like a better more configurable hand written version of the game*** My Arcade Machines...
WVISION Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Mine's coming along.. Just a few more exterior things to finish ie Trim. Then onto control panel wiring and pc mounting. Went LCD with a scanline generator. A little lighter that way. Haven't heard back from Sjaak so went a different way for now.
frostyfire03530 Posted September 14, 2013 Author Posted September 14, 2013 It looks great! Where'd you find the cab? From the lockbar over the coin door it looks like it was in fair use before you got a hold of it. Any other pics to share?
WVISION Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Thanks, I'm really happy with how it turned out. Yep your right it was an Amusement Cab with lock bar. I know a few folks in the amusement industry so occasionally I call to see if they have a end of life cab that needs a good home. Found an old cab that was a guerrilla war snk conversion. Well it was panted black and while sanding it was blue behind it. Further inspection and it was a DK cabinet a long time ago think it was a 5000'ish serial. No boards or monitor so far from anything that was destroying a good game. 3 coats primer and 3 coats Liquid Blue and it was back in shape. I decided to keep the lock bar thought it added character. So I plasti dipped it and added some brass spacers to move it away from the door just to prevent damage. Has an old retired HP I had laying around and added a Lono Arcade to USB controller with Xpadder. Amazon had a little Lepai 20watt mini amp to drive the speaker. 16:9 24"LCD screen by ASUS has a 4:3 aspect mode built in so that worked out well. Added a SLG 3000 scan line generator.. Artwork is Ricks although I did color correct it to match the the arcade cabinet colors and adjusted button location to fit a DKjr CPO. I used Disney paper craft model to match colors off of. My local sign shop just got their new printer in so i was their test subject. Might have them print the Marquee double pass but was not complaining as everything turned out great! Just have to vent it for the pc fan to exhaust.
macaco Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Anybody sharing the digital copy artwork for Fix It Felix cab, from RidicRick? I've constructed and set up my cab but need the artwork to finish it? I know i'm a bit behind the 8 ball. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried RidicRick, I'm sure he already get's bombarded with requests all the time.
Wreck-it-Ryan Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I've done some (pretty terrible) editing and I've got some more sound effects http://www.filedropper.com/sound4 - a coin going into the machine, from the movie introduction http://www.filedropper.com/sound18 - Ralph splatting into the mud http://www.filedropper.com/sound19 - Ralph falling off the building, part two http://www.filedropper.com/sound23 - Ralph falling off the building, part one http://www.filedropper.com/sound28 - Gene screaming yeah, this is my first time editing audio, but I hope I did well enough also, does anyone have Felix's death sound that I could use please?
pgj1997 Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Here's a mod I made. http://www.mediafire.com/download/wge9ai5dcldiiop/sounds9and19.zip Sound 9 has a better "I'm Gonna Wreck it!" sound clip while Sound 19 adds Ralph's scream when he's thrown off the building. BTW, you can adjust the orientation of the screen by using the mouse wheel.
zoltar420 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 So I was watching this movie again the other day and I noticed at the end of the movie they mentioned a bonus level. The bonus level had Q*bert and friends helping fix it felix out. Has anyone made it far enough in the game to see if this bonus level actually exists? I can only make it to level 6 lmao!

Min2001 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 That is how the game is coded the zoom is hardcoded into the game and can only be run at 33, 50, 100 and 200. You have it set at 200, this cuts off the screen at the top and bottom when it is resized as it is resized too big. You can set it to run at 100 (I have mine set to this) which will preserve the top and bottom of the game but the game will be smaller and in the middle of the screen. Also your bezel is way too big (but maybe due to the zoom level) Edit: oh I see you wanted to keep the game like this I do have a bezel that I modified for my 16:9 widescreen here if you want to test that with it (1920 x 1080 Widescreen Bezel)
MydknyteStyrm Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Thanks to everyone for the hard work put into this amazing game so far. I have a few questions that Im not sure are possible. First, is there a way in the AHK to remove that crosshair that represents the mouse? I havent put this into my HS setup yet, and was wondering if there was a module that controls this, or is it all done through djvj's AHk launcher? I also assume that I would install this under my PC Games. Is there anything special I would add to the code? Thanks! EDIT: Also, is there a way to keep the high scores?
rjp1138 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Hi. I made a death sound for Felix. I put it at the beginning of sound21.wav, with just enough silence in there to time it right. IfI someone is willing to post it to share, I am willing to email it to them for them to post.
SORHP Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 EDIT: Also, is there a way to keep the high scores? Sorry bud, there is not Unless you can get ahold of sjaaks version, look around at the byoac forums My Arcade Machines...
Arcadia Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Ok here is my cab: I'm using the game from Warrior Poet (many many thanks for this!). Everything works great but I still have some questions. I have set up a shortcut of the exe to the startup folder of windows so the game launches when the computer has booted. For now I'm going to keep this cabinet as dedicated so no other games on there. Every time the exe launches I get the following box: It asks to overwrite 2 files, one being the original FIF.exe, and I have to press the A button 2 times (or the Y for yes) before the game can launch. I have set these buttons as shift buttons on the ipac now so I don't have to open the cab and use the keyboard but it would be nice if it would boot straight away. Anything I can do about this? What is the best OS to use? I'm using Win7 now and it seems to run good. Any advantages to XP or others? Ow yes, the woodwork and decals where entirely made by Sjaak! I did the technical part.
