Retroarch -core-options.cfg error

When loading a rom through Hyperspin using Rocketlaunch to load retroarch..i get an error of missing retroarch-core-options.cfg is missing in the config folder. Any1 know the resolution for creating that file?

Ok, I have been able to solve it.

To solve this with the latest build at this moment (I guess its the same with others recent enough) you MUST run a game inside Retroarch with the core you want to use in Hyperspin.

For example if you want to run Nintendo 64 with retroarch within Hyperspin you need to run a game FIRST OUTSIDE HYPERSPIN with the Nintendo 64 core in Retroarch then press F1 and make some changes to the core, save a snap or sth and this will generate "retroarch-core-options.cfg" in the root of the folder where you have Retroarch.

The copy this file to the Config folder and you are good to go. Note that the same thing can happen with other files, and systems, you can solve this the same way.

yes, thank you buxmoney. Will I have a core-options.cfg for each core I use? Or will it rename them to each system individually?

This is actually a rocket launcher problem.

If you stop using Rocket launcher and just have hyperspin call retroarch.exe directly with the proper core in the parameters section the problem goes away.

Same problem with the NES core and rocket launcher.

There's a config folder option within RocketLauncher that will solve this also. The newer versions of RA put their configs (including the retroarch-core-options.cfg file) in the root RA folder. You may just point the RL setting to the root RA folder to solve the issue (or just copy the file every time it changes).

 

@buxmoney is right as well... you have to run games outside of RL to first generate the file.
