The beta is now ready for public testing.

New features include:

HyperSpin List Generator:

- Clone manager!

- Added menu option to show and hide your parents and clones

- Enhanced filtering (now an expandable side panel)

- Now even easier to filter, show, and hide columns

ROM Renamer

- DAT file support!

- Fixed bug where tool would report it could not find CRCs when they actually existed in the XML file (thanks to relic for finding this).

(Special thanks to Rain for his dat API)

- Color coding based on CRC status.

New tool - DAT to HyperList Creator

- Pass in a DAT file and it will spit out a XML file.

Click the link below to download 4.2.6 beta.

(link removed as this has now gone production)

Again, beware... this version is still in beta testing, it is possible it could crash or not operate as expected. If so, please report it. Click the link on my signature below if you are looking for a stable version 4.1)

Again, thanks!

I'll be using it tomorrow especially for the renamer addition. I just started using 4.1 yesterday so I have to learn it anyways :)

Trying to see an option to mass hide all non-working mame roms but haven't found that yet. I'm certainly not going to go thru them manually. :afraid:

does good sets work with the renamer just i had an issue before with it but ill give it a try again in future builds perhaps you could support a log txt window

Make sure you have a MAMEList XML file generated. You should see an emulation status column. Sort by clicking on that column or by typing a value into the filter.

Great work on this release bro, works like a champ. I used the No-Intro DAT file for NES on a dirty Good Merge set and it found all 2,228 games. Thanks for including that feature for completion hounds such as myself. All in all, this suite of tools just gets better and better with every release!

So about this list, is this simply the XML file from HyperList downloads/MAME? or a list generated by my current mame.exe .148?

very slick. so far this is looking great! easy to generate a vertical only list as well which is awesome for my cocktail cab. A question about working/non-working the column for "Status" is the right one, I assume. I have Good/Preliminary/Imperfect and some with no status. I assume non-playable/non-working are under the Preliminary status? Then I could just select all of those and select don't add/etc and export a new list?

Lots of questions but many thanks as well.

I tried the rom re-namer with the hypersync generated xml and also the one recently updated by DamnedRegistrations and neither would work in it. I keep getting an error 'It appears that this xml file does not have any crc tags for your games'. I even deleted the xml from hypersync in the database folder, had it re-download it, and it still comes up with the same error..

But, I tried the .dat file from the downloads section and it actually worked.

Any Idea what may be causing this?

Edited to include that this is for the SNES xml....

As a side note, I reverted back to V4.11 and can use the hypersync provided xml for Super Nintendo. The one from DamnedRegistrations still does not work..

emb, just for the sake of consistency, maybe you should change the wording here so that others don't get confused in the final release.

Otherwise, looking good. I still have lots of missing ROMs for SNES and NES but I'm sure the CRC is incorrect or something. When using the SNES xml generated by HyperSpin it seemed to find everything but when I loaded up HyperSpin I found a few titles that didn't work saying Cannot find XXXXXX (USA)(Rev A).zip or the likes. When I look at the rom itself, it's labeled fine but without the (A). Like I said before, this is from the HyperSpin/Databases/SNES/snes.xml should I be using a different dat file? Should I grab one from no-into or something..?

i to have this problem i think there should be a option to fix crc text i meant rename to the correct type

Thanks for another great update. I like the idea of a generated xml spit out from a dat file. I recently downloaded the ps1 & ps2 set from underground gamer and they are built against the redump.org set.

I tried loading your utility and then building an XML with both the playstation and playstation 2 dat files provided directly from redump.org

The dat to hyperlist converter reported that it created the file successfully however the xml document generated was 0kb and completely empty. I did not see any form of log or way to troubleshoot or give you more information? perhaps while beta testing you should output a verbose .log file so we can help dial things in?

For reference, here is the beginning of what a redump.org xml dat looks like. This is the ps1 dat with the first 2 games.

Are you looking to only parse hyperspin provided dats with this utility or to support dats for alternative game sets?
