That is a format I have not seen before. That is not a no intro dat file ( has a .dat file extension).

To say the least, that is a pretty detailed file though. I'll read more on it and consider integrating it into the toolchain.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is just like the .dat i sent you..

I ended up using a xml from the ftp and creating one with list generator to mach the games i have with artwork...

I'm copy pasting from another one of my posts some information in case you were curious what other dats look like comparatively.

Here is a link to the dreamcast superdats for redump, tosec, and trurip respectively:

http://redump.org/datfile/dc/

http://www.tosecdev.org/index.php/downloads/category/20-2013-04-13?download=35%3Atosec-dat-pack-complete-2095-tosec-v2013-04-13

http://database.trurip.org/index.php?page=mnu-Database-DAT-List&showSuperDAT=1

Those are probably the 3 most common ones out there.

If I pull a game out of all 3 for example, sega rally 2.

This is what you see pulled from a TOSEC dat

Bonanza Bros. (Europe)
Desert Speedtrap Starring Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It)
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (Europe)
Ms. Pac-Man (Europe)
R.C. Grand Prix (USA, Europe)
Simpsons, The - Bart vs. The Space Mutants (Europe)
Simpsons, The - Bart vs. The World (Europe)
Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin (USA, Europe)
Spy vs. Spy (USA, Europe)
Super Smash T.V. (Europe)
Walter Payton Football (USA)

apprantley there are crcs for those games as well

and heres proof its no joke

post-2203-14287058911_thumb.jpg

Also i was thinking a missing list button could be added say it to show only avalible roms or just missing roms.

Uploaded 4.2.4 -- link is in the first post.

I found it to time consuming to show/hide columns by the right click menu and instead created an expandable pane to search and show/hide columns. This will indirectly fix the microsoft bug when you are filtering a table and you lose the ability to scroll through the columns.

much appreciated, was expecting to come this sooner or later :)

this is becoming better and better!

thank you!

Thanks don works great now it was an issue with the software glad i spoted it and reported it to you and yes these programs are genious my 1st favourite programs in history. just wondering could we have a button to fix missing roms in databases i scanned sega master system and it reported these games are missing and dont match.

Bonanza Bros. (Europe)
Desert Speedtrap Starring Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It)
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (Europe)
Ms. Pac-Man (Europe)
R.C. Grand Prix (USA, Europe)
Simpsons, The - Bart vs. The Space Mutants (Europe)
Simpsons, The - Bart vs. The World (Europe)
Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin (USA, Europe)
Spy vs. Spy (USA, Europe)
Super Smash T.V. (Europe)
Walter Payton Football (USA)

apprantley there are crcs for those games as well

i checked the missing crc txt and it reported blank

and heres proof its no joke

Also i was thinking a missing list button could be added say it to show only avalible roms or just missing roms.

The save games with no CRCs option just spits out a list of games which do not have populated CRC tags in the XML file. The save missing games shows you what games could not be found although a CRC tag existed. I'll look into cleaning up these options, you're right...they could be consolidated.

I think should have a feature to verify the crc of files to see if they match with the crc of the xml, with green color or red color if it is a different crc

Are you talking about for the ROM renamer or or the list generator? Reason I ask is because scanning would take exponentially longer in the list generator to read all the ROM files to calculate the CRC for each game. The zip files would be easy as it contains the checksum in the header, however uncompressed ROMs would take substantial time.

I'll add color coding to the ROM renamer since that particular tool calculates the CRC for you.

Don,

I just downloaded the microsoft msx & msx 2 dats from datomatic and created xml's

I then went to list merger to merge the 2 of them and list merger crashed.

Here is the message I received:

Another notation:

I just tried the database generated for the microsoft msx2, and one for supervision. These came straight from dat-o-matic

When I try to select them from hyperspin I get for example a black screen error that Watara Supervision.xml is invalid - which then quits hyperspin.

If I compare the generated xml vs an existing known working one I noticed the formatting is slightly different, for example - tabs.

Here is a snippet from a hyperlist working daphne xml, and one from the msx2 xml I generated to see side by side.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<menu>
<header>

</header>

	<manufacturer></manufacturer>
	<crc>17E58926</crc>
	<genre></genre>
	<year></year>
	<rating></rating>
	<enabled>Yes</enabled>
</game>

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<menu>

 </header>
 <game name="astron" index="true" image="a">

   <year>1983</year>
   <genre>Shoot-'Em-Up</genre>
   <rating>HSRS - GA (General Audience)</rating>
   <enabled>Yes</enabled>
 </game>

EDIT:

It's getting cut off. If I scroll down the list the xml is incomplete

if I paste

ufacturer></manufacturer>

<year></year>

<genre></genre>

<rating></rating>

<enabled>Yes</enabled>

</game>

</menu>

onto the end of the file it then functions in hyperspin.

All 3 of the XML's are being cut off towards the end at different points. one is 252kb, another 52kb... not a size limit to bounce off? Seems like probably the bottom of the list if not the last game.

I have confirmed there are definitely games missing, some worse than others. 90%+ are at least there.

I am using Dons Dat To HyperList Converter and feeding it lists straight from http://datomatic.no-intro.org/?page=download

I tried to merge 2 broken xml's as well, so that might be why the list merger crashed in my previous post - that was before I realized they cut off incompletely. This is different from when I mentioned the redump dats earlier - this was using a no-intro provided one which I am assuming is the main intent to support with the tool more than anything else?

emb, 4.2.6 is very good so far. It's way easier to navigate and hide clones. UI is all around much better and user friendly. thanks!

BTW Emb, I have a massive update for that DAT API for you as well that I need to shoot you over. It delivers a games rating, parent ROM name and some more sorted details that you can probably put to good use. Can't wait to try the next version out; your renamer has damned near replaced CLRMAMEPRO in my setup!

is the fix missing rom button going to be added to the new one cause i notice with good sets a few still come up missing
