Possible to mix emulators within one wheel/romset?

Title gore, I know... but I had some serious writer's block and couldn't figure out how else to put it while keeping it short.

 

Here's what I'm wondering...

 

I have two ROM sets, two wheels, each with different emulators. The first wheel is MAME (MAMEUIFX), the second is Naomi (DEmul). I'm using Rocketlauncher with the latest updates. For the average player it's a little confusing to have the two arcade sets split across wheels, so I'm wondering if I could merge the two into one, and specifically call out those Naomi ROMs (ie mvsc2) which should launch with DEmul. The other ROMs would launch with MAMEUIFX.

 

Thoughts?

Alternate emulators is what you are looking for in rocket launcher. Then merge your xml files. Good luck.

Thanks guys, I'll poke around some more and see if I can find "alternate emulators." I looked some over the weekend but couldn't find anything like that.

 

It's just a handful of games, so I don't mind doing this manually.

It's a hack (in that I have to still have the Naomi wheel around) but I'll take it.

On second thought, may as well ask... is there a way to hide a wheel in HS? I need to leave it defined in RL for this to work but would prefer not to show the Naomi wheel at all.

Yes. Set up only the MAME wheel as I am assuming that is the wheel you want. Merge your naomi database with MAME. Then on the games tab for MAME in Rocketlauncher, you will need to click the Alternate Emulators tab. Search for each of the Naomi games and double click them. This will bring up the alternate emulator dialog box. Select the emulator of choice from the third option and you should be good to go. For each naomi game you will need to setup the new emulator this way.

Then remove the Naomi wheel.
