SkyHighGam3r Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 I upgraded my build to Windows 10 a couple of days ago and have been going through testing everything for compatibility. I've found fixes for all the issues I've run into thus far, but there is a problem I came across that I do not understand in the least. In both MagicEngine, and TurboEngine (and please tell me if there is a better emulator for TurboGrafx16/CD) it seems as though the input for LEFT is constantly being pushed. Not held, but repeatedly being pressed. The reason I am unsure if this is a Windows 10 error is because I haven't booted up the emulator for this in quite a while. NEC systems are near the bottom of my list of things to do with Hyperspin. I'd appreciate any help you guys can give me, even if it's to tell me I need to use a differant emulator (I am not familiar with NEC in the least)
Shermo Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Mednafan or Retroarch i would setup the latter after the initial setup works great. But Mednafan is a good one, but the core of mednafan is used it retroarch so you have that plus a few more
SkyHighGam3r Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Hmm... I've seen retroarch mentioned a number of times on the boards, but never tried it. I'll have to look into it. My big concern about switching emulators is that I have to have something that will do both TG16 and TGCD, because I combined the wheels in my hyperspin build lolStill, I find the issue with both turboengine and magic engine odd, since no other emulator or game displays the same issues.
Styphelus Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Retroarch supports TG16, TG16CD, PC Engine, PC Engine CD and Supergrafx. I have them ass setup and running beautifully. You might need a bios file or 2 if I remember correctly.
SkyHighGam3r Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Well that is certainly good news. Seems that this does a whole lot of systems from what I'm reading online. I'll have to try it out tonight, and cross my fingers that I don't have the same issue with Bonk trying to shuffle to the left side of the screen for god-knows-why lol.

Even with SimplyAustin's well-done tutorial videos, I had trouble getting roms to show up and run. I was pretty bummed out because RetroArch can be such a widely used solution. Oh well.
Shermo Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 It's a fantastic emulator, if you use bezels it makes adjustments a breeze. It's also nice setting up a system and seeing retroarch as a compatible emulator, makes setting up systems even easier after the initial setup. Austin has a video if you need help setting it up, also a download which should make a life a bit easier
SkyHighGam3r Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Well, I don't use any bezels or anything, but I do insist on having everything displayed in Stretch 16:9 (I know, it's blasphemy), and I'm currently expirimenting with Scanlines to see if it's something I want to add... some people say it makes things look better, but maybe I am using them wrong? I'm just trying to think what features I really need in an emulator. It kills me I can't go install this and try it out right now, but I'm at work and they frown upon pulling out my Laptop/Tablet, which is (again, blasphemy) my hyperspin machine. Also, forgive me if this is a display of ignorance... but who is SimplyAustin. I'm guessing that's a youtube channel?
thcdgaf Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 I setup retroarch for most systems haven't had problem it just gotta remember turn save on exit off and per core on also have config file named same as your system your emulating also windows 10 is too buggy right now I prefer 8.1 no problems yet Sent from my LGL16C using Tapatalk

I'm very insistant on keeping it, unless I have to change, as it allows me to stream my Xbox One games. Which I plan to integrate into the Hyperspin build (somehow) Click the link in my Sig mate. Playlist on how to set up Hyperspin systems and emulators somewhere on it hehe Wow, you have a lot of videos. I am going to have to bingewatch some of these when I get home lol If I wasn't at work (You can tell how hard I work lol) I would watch them right now.
SkyHighGam3r Posted September 1, 2015 Author Posted September 1, 2015 Click the link in my Sig mate. Playlist on how to set up Hyperspin systems and emulators somewhere on it hehe Beautifuly straight forward tutorial, thank you for posting it. I was curious to know if there are any updates on the actual program since that video was made (I can't seem to find a legitimate download for RetroArch over Google...) Also, in case anyone was wondering, I figured out the initial issue and I am just an idiot. Bonk was having a probelm because I guess it doesn't like the 6 button controller... lol. I wouldn't have found that out had I not hit LT in RetroArch though, so 2 birds with one stone! Thanks again everyone!
Shermo Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 https://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/ Just copy over is fine, download the new cores also. Those new cores is just one simple way to upgrade around 60 emulators
