Super Mario Wars Retro Arch Port

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

In my quest to make SMW work I have found out it has been ported to Retro Arch,

I cannot find a rom version and a zipped version of the pc game does not work,

Has anyone managed to get it working on Retro Arch?

Best,

P

Do you have any more details as I can't find anything and how would it be ported to RetroArch?

All I found was a very bad SNES Rom which was a different game anyway.

Thanks for the Replies, GigaPig I will check that out and hopefully I can get it towork,

Styphelus, I have the Windows version but when it exits the Resolution change messes up my hyperspin window, so Im looking for an alternative

I have just downloaded the 1.8 beta, addded it to my Fan Remakes wheel using the PCLauncher module and it closes fine using the exit menu. I then added the AppWait and changed the exit method to "WinClose AppWaitexe" and was able to close the game using my exit keys which are set in RLUI. Neither method caused issues.

So how do you have it set up PJ? Is HyperSpin running at desktop resolution?

I set my hyperspin to run at 1920 1080 under windowed resolution in hyper HQ,

Added App Wait  and changed exit method but still when I close it my Hyperspin is spread across two of my screens,

im guessing the problem stems from me having more than one monitor attached to my computer?

Yes that is possible, how do you have your monitors? I have a projector so mine are set as cloned, I'm guessing yours are extended.

It does say that SMW is available for PSP and a bunch of other systems, how I don't know yet.

I have been trying to get the various different versions to work with no luck,

PS2 Version - Elf file doesn't boot

RetroPie - Cannot extract the information from the .img

Wii Version - Dolphin doesnt find it,

I would love to get the Wii version working but im not experienced with WiiWare (if its not an image)

If anyone gets one of them working pleas get in touch

I tried for many hours yesterday to get a Wii version working but had to stop and I didn't like to fail.

It was difficult enough to find the right files as I was looking for a wad but ended up with the .dol. I could load the .dol in Dolphin but it just showed a black screen.

I even tried adding the files to a virtual SD card and then loading the Wii system menu and tried launching from a forwarder but nothing would work :(

PC version is fine though, lol.

wow, thanks for trying so hard Giga pig,

Ye its frustrating as this is one of my favorites but if I play the pc version my hyperspin is messed up after so its a real pain,

The problem seems to be with having extra screens attached,

Im hoping to make a dedicated HTPC to use with my tv at some point in the future, so maybe ill have to wait till then,

I wish someone would port it to a rom so I could play it in retro arch, with the shaders it would be awesome!

Thanks again for trying
