Mame Community High Scores?

Is there a way that you can maybe have high scores from the community uploaded into mame? Would be fun having to beat proper players high scores rather than just beating your own

The trouble would be merging the his core files with your own, if you didn't already have the .hi file then it would work but only per person.

 

Alternatively why not join in with the HyperScore challenge found in the lounge section.

When I've got my cab finished, I'll be in the HS challenge with you guys/gals... it's a great idea!

 

I've considered setting up a dropbox folder to link "hi" directories between MAME/UIFX installs. That way the files are updated in real-time, via the cloud. The only issue is there's a slight risk of scores getting lost if people are playing the same game at exactly the same time.

ok thanks..it was just a thought I had earlier...to be playing asteroids for instance and real player community scores flash up teeling their status

Could there be some app written that read what your individual score was and sent it to a board or something somewhere for hyperhiscore? :-)
